OT: Hiphop heads who had the better diss track MGK v Eminem

But on the mixtapes he had lyrics too. Mumble rap started from Wayne impersonators who didn’t have skill

Ya, but waynes lyrics were not on the level of the other big time rappers before him. Most of the mumble guys have lyrics on par with Wayne. Kodak, Chief Keef, etc. Wayne became famous because kids from the burbs loved him because he had hot beats and a catchy voice. They didn't care about lyrics at all. Before Wayne rap was mainly in the hood with some random burb kids listening to it, but Wayne made it mainstream and all the mumble guys continued the trend.

Lyrically a lot of **** went over ppl's head with Slim's diss. You need to listen to Killshot about ten times to get what he was saying. Once you get it, you would he like..... ****. He did murder MGK. PAY ATTENTION TO THE SIMILES, METAPHORS AND BARS OF RAP!
See this thing . It was a nice diss . Decent wordplay . But If you a real hip hop fan you know that Em was not saying no complicated sht. Tell me what did he say in that diss that was so complicated it was going over peoples heads ?

Exactly. These mfs are acting like we are retarded. I got every single line the first time I heard it. Maybe these dudes didn't know D-block used to be called the lox or some ****, but its not like this is Papoose or Canibus that be saying some crazy **** that you need to break out the dictionary, thesaurus and encyclopedia to understand.

What was the 100lb ***** with 20lbs of tats saying that was so complicated... It's not like he was spitting some Crooked I, Ras Kass, Chino XL, Kurupt, Tech 9 ****

Everybody knows Dre gave Em his career. You’re not saying anything new. Dre is a master at discovering talent and making beats.

The new generation may have forgot about Dre, but in my book the two Chronic albums are top five all time.

I never said it was some revelation or anything. Just saying Em wouldn't have broken out without Dre and therefore is not all that.

If you haven't seen The Defiant Ones, you definitely want to.

Everyone is discovered by somebody.... not sure what your point is.

Wooowwww this is bad.

Dr. Dre is not some A&R rep at some nothing label. People get "discovered" and amount to absolutely nothing all the time. Anything Dre attaches his name to has instant credibility.

Em's star rose on Dre's back.

I'm not the biggest Em fan but he resurrected Dre and took Aftermath up several levels

Can't agree with your use of "resurrected" here. Dr. Dre is Dr. Dre. All through the 90's and early 00's, anything Dre did would have garnered instant attention. Yeah, he toiled over new albums for WAY too long. So do many great visionary artists.

Point being, Dre did not need Em. Em needed Dre.

Dre got bodied by Uncle Luke. Let that sink in for a minute.

Facts... Dre started Aftermath and released..... Dr Dre presents the aftermath and then dropped The Firm... Next up was Eminem... Sooooooo, yeah, the new guy resurrected Dre and his label...

I don't see your point. Thats like saying Ulysses Bridgewater is better then Kobe Bryant because he is worth more.

Who gives a $#!+ about better? One is a billionaire and Luke is a nobody outside of South Florida.

Would you rather be "better" than someone, or have a billion dollars?

Also, Dre is one of the greatest producers that ever lived. And Luke is famous for dirty lyrics and little else.

I hate to break it to you, but no one cares about Luke. He's a poor man's Vanilla Ice.

FACTS

You're mistaking correlation for causation.

Dre resurrected his own career and brought Em along for the ride. "Forgot About Dre" was a huge hit and put Dre back into the national spotlight, but he sure as **** didn't need Em for that. He could have done it with Snoop and it would've been just as huge.

And, you know, Dre produced The Marshall Mathers LP, and Em was literally no one until that happened.
