OT - Frank Ladson

Because the best NFL players from the U on offense the last 10 years have all been from out of state or transfers. I mentioned Lamar Miller, Hurns, and Benjamin... let me know know who I'm missing?

And uf's 2 best players on offense last year drafted in rd 1, both out of state (Toney and Pitts)
I'm not talking about The U, I'm talking about states who produce the most NFL talent. It's Florida by a long shot. It's not even really close. So what exactly is your argument? We have the best skill players in the world, they just don't go to Miami.

Your logic is that Ladson is struggling so that's a reflection on the state as a whole? What kind of weird argument is that? So we're going to completely ignore the kids from Florida who are dominating at other schools? I guess we didn't watch Alabama struggle to defend Henderson and Nayquan Wright?

Don't love using these selective arguments.

This article claims the opposite. 66% of NFL First round Picks were 4 or 5 stars. That’s a pretty solid hit rate considering how many prospects there are coming out of high school. It’s not Florida-specific but I can’t imagine they are hitting on that percentage everywhere else and Florida only is a dud.

Could be. Keep in mind “Florida” also includes IMG, so in reality Texas is probably #1 by a small margin.

Frank Ladson is South Florida talent... you wanna keep going? Grimes, Rosemey, Lingard (Orlando). I can name more busts than stars. But go ahead and keep defending it. The state of Florida produces a ton of players, all I'm asking is to tell me about all the offensive stars over the last 10 years that I haven't mentioned.

Our 6 best pass catchers in the past 5 years are Berrios, Osborn, Rambo, Njoku, Herndon, and Jordan (minus Ahmmon Richards)... all out of state. I'm sticking by my argument

Deejay Dallas, Gus Edwards, Jeff Thomas, all out of state.

Pope, Bruce, Mullins, Payton, Wiggins, Redding, Hightower, Yearby, Irvin Jr, etc. All in state
Bro lmao. 🙄

You can name players from South Florida who played at OTHER PROGRAMS during that time who were just as good or better. They just didn't choose Miami. (i.e. you referencing Yearby while Cook was killing it at FSU during the same time period)

The South Florida kids who go to The U don't speak for South Florida kids as a whole. How do you talk about Miami's sucky South Florida recruits while completely ignoring the elite ones at Alabama, Georgia, Ohio state, Clemson, etc?

So Fla is a good place to find skill position players. For linemen, it's nowheresville.
There are plenty of dlinemen in the NFL from south florida.
If you mean oline there are a few as well is just about getting the right ones.

1. Justin McCray
2. Joe Looney
3. Jon Feliciano
4. Brandon Linder
5. John Miller
6. Dennis Daley
7. Ereck Flowers
8. Sam Young
9. Vernon Carey
11. Bobby Hart
12. Marcus Gilbert
13. Kevin Pamphile
14. Chris Myers
15. Orlando Franklin
16. Yodny Cajuste
17. Davin Joseph
18. Fred Johnson

All olinemen that been active in the nfl last decade from south florida.
Maybe there are more but got tired of looking.
Plus there were a few that didn't make the NFL but were good in college.

Frank's been hurt a lot & when healthy he is eating snaps from the rest of Clemson's WR unit. Their entire offense is struggling if y'all ain't notice

He still has time, but I thought he was massively overrated when he was a recruit.

Over the last 10 years, here are a list of skill players that have busted a grape in the league..

WR - A Brown, Hilton, Cooper, Hurns, Watkins, Benjamin, R Anderson, Ridley, M Brown, Jeudy

RB - L Miller, Bernard, J White, D Freeman, Duke, Cook

QB - Jackson and Bridgewater

I never said South Florida doesn't produce talent. I was simply pointing out that there are lots of talented players that don't pan out (not just at Miami, but at other schools too). I also feel that the talent level has tremendously evened out throughout the country. There are tons of superstars in college and in the pros from other places

I also said, when you look at all the Florida schools in general, I'm not seeing the speed or talent gap like I used to see.

"A few" OL is right. As for your list, I'm not impressed. If you compiled a list of 18 skill position players, there'd be no comparison.

Fortson and Donaldson are examples of extremely highly-hyped HS linemen from So Fla who were average at best at the college level. Fortson was even named the National HS Defensive Player of the Year (6 star?).

LOL. You're leaving off a ton of guys.

When you send MORE players to D1 schools than any other state in the country, there's bound to be kids who don't pan out. What's your point? (every state has those)

And the talent level has definitely not evened out. Matter of fact, Florida is the only state in the country where football participation HASN'T fallen over the last few years. (it's actually increased)
The NFL draft also shows that the talent gap is widening, if anything.

But let's ignore facts and go with your eye test. That's reliable.

Agree to disagree... that mentality is part of the problem. People think because we have players from Florida we should be better than everyone we play, when in reality, it seems that every team we play is equal or better than us regardless of where they are from.

Our best players in recent years have been out of state or transferred. Yeah, Rousseau is local, but in recent years, how many other highly rated players have we gotten locally that lived up to their ranking?

Left off a ton foreal....I mean sh*t the Dolphins starting qb is from RAWVERA.

Matter of facvt Macho you told him and can tell him....THE GAP is about to get WIDER.
SOUTH FLORIDA HAS FINALLY CAUGHT UP TO THE TIMES....there are guys with private coaches and trainers.....OL and DL that have played the position since youth ball since there isnt any more weight limits....and States like California being softies.

Every **** park in South Florida is LOADED to the brims with kids from the ages of 5-14 PLAYING football...I mean jam packed.

The SoFla kids Miami gets are overwhelmingly the overrated ones. But occasionally we pull some really good ones... and then ruin them.

This is the weakest WR unit they’ve had in years. It’s says more about them than it does him. Ngata and Ladson have both been busts.

No one is saying that, you keep changing the debate.
