OT - Frank Ladson

That's like saying not every Brazilian prospect will turn into a world class soccer player.
Which is true but reality is no one produces better and more soccer players than Brazil.
Same goes for football and South florida. Best place to find players and good ones is south florida and the state of florida as a whole.

Ladson mentioned in Clemson injury updates yesterday. Now "battling a groin injury". They also have a bye this week so possible he will be cleared for 10/16.

Has 4 catches for 49 yards thru 4 games. Not all 5 stars pan out and not every player from Florida is guaranteed to be a star. Clearly, by watching fsu, ucf, the gaytor, and Miami lately, there isn't any significant speed or talent advantage.
Alot of people pegged him as a bust....it wasn't the usual posters who hate if someone leaves especially a five star. It was reliable dudes who said he was not that good. And they were right

The draft year after year still proves that Florida high schools (particularly Florida high schools) are at the top. Some theories:

1) the absolute creme de la creme (majority) are now going to mainly out of state schools (Bama, Georgia, Clemson, OSU and even Oklahoma).

2)among the remaining still loaded players there is so much outside interest they are widely dispersed across a much larger variety of schools (UCF, Indiana, WVU, Rutgers, Minnesota,Kentucky, etc) than ever before.

3) the big 3 (well mainly us) have totally sucked at hiring coaching staffs for years

Finally I do agree that speed is a priority across the country more than ever before regardless of Florida or not. Florida is still loaded but again it’s so widely dispersed with that talent and coupled with the increasing speed priority elsewhere, that it’s negated a lot of the talent advantages among the former big three here who haven’t had as good as coaching, either.

Well said.. my point is when you look at some of the fastest wrs in the country or at the combine, they are from all over the country. Ohio has had some of the fastest wrs dating back to Galloway.

Who is the last offensive Hurricane player from the state of Florida, from 2006-present to have a major impact in the NFL? It's been around 10 years and maybe it's Lamar Miller? And all of our great TE's are usually out of state, Franks, Shockey, Winslow, Olsen, Graham, Njoku, Herndon, and Jordan. It's crazy to think of how little offensive talent we have produced lately.

and humanity is much better for it!

Vai Brasil!

Another NFL draft will come next spring and it will be full of players from Florida like it is every year. You can cherry pick busts from every state.
If you look at the last 10 years, other than Dalvin Cook, Amari Cooper, Ridley, and Jeudy there has not been a ton of Offensive talent that has made a major impact in the NFL, from South Florida. Antonio Brown is a hidden gem, but that was over 10 years ago. I'm probably leaving a few players out, but its not an overwhelming number.

Ummm TY Hilton doesnt count? And you made sure to put in there "major impact" to cover yourself here I see. No specific area has a ton of "major impact" players from there because there are only a handful of "major impact" players in the league anyway.

But UM has missed on alot of offensive that **** sure could have helped us over the last 10 years that are currently in the NFL. Isiah McKenzie and James White come to mind right away.

Bro what. Broward County had more 1st round picks in the 2019 draft than any STATE. It’d take too much effort to name young NFL ballers from SoFlo for you.

Of course there’s dudes everywhere, but the biggest concentration is here.
