OT: Francois being investigated

Maybe someone can request the police report and see what the reasoning was in black and white from the responding officer.

Thanks for posting this.

In my experience I would say that the officer was correct, as it was not possible to gain enough evidence at the time for probable cause.

I am not sure who the witness for the suspect was, but apparently that is the only witness. IF it was a teammate or close friend of only the suspect, that could raise suspicion to the veracity of statement....but it is basically 2 against 1.

The suspect IS the one who called the police, but I have had plenty of experience with the guilty party actually being the original reporting party to cover up the true events...but no way to tell if this is what happened based on what is presented in the report. I wonder if you can hear the girlfriend screaming or breaking anything in the background of the call recording.

Ultimately, they did not spend the night at the same location as the suspect voluntarily stayed somewhere else for the night, which is the desired outcome in this situation.

If the suspect is the kind of person who would perpetrate this activity in the first place, he is likely to do it again, and at that time maybe there would be enough evidence to support an arrest. Or, maybe he was telling the truth the whole time.

You don't necessarily have to be guilty to be arrested, and this happens a lot in DV cases. There just has to be enough probable cause. Plenty of innocent people (who's accused crime does not reach beyond a reasonable doubt) get arrested...which sucks, but that's the way it works. Mistakes and misinformation happen. In this case I agree with the responding officer.

And cleared:

Florida State quarterback Deondre Francois was cleared by the Tallahassee Police Department in an alleged domestic violence incident, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

The matter in question took place on Tuesday night at the apartment Francois shares with his pregnant girlfriend, identified by the Times as Diamond Lindsey. Police were called to the scene but a subsequent investigation that continued through Wednesday evening did not result in any charges after “conflicting statements and lack of independent witnesses.”

The police report shed some light on that, with Lindsey claiming the quarterback “picked her up and threw her to the ground and cut her forearm.” Francois countered by saying he carried her outside after she started an argument — so that she would not break anything after throwing a vase across the room. In addition to the he-said, she-said nature of the incident, the police report also notes that Lindsey indicated that she did not want to press chargers or for the quarterback to get in trouble. She also told the officer at the scene to talk with Francois “to scare him a little.”

FSU running back Zaquandre White was also present for the argument and gave a statement to officers in the matter as well.

What type of man owns a vase?

FSU quarterback OBV....

Wonder if Willie will be handing them out to recruits. Starting new traditions

Good for him that he wasn't arrested. Nice kick to the gut of the MeToo crap movement.

So you’re for assaulting women?

So you're for women falsely accusing men of assault?

So everyone of those women making claims were lying?

You can bet your *** that some are...It's Hollywood,,,they love the attention and pats on the back for being "champs".

Women have been making false accusations against men forever...same thing with pregnancies and child support.... I don't condone it when it's factual.....but far too often it's not and men get punished for false claims.

Please direct me to the libel lawsuits that these politicians and Hollywood types have won. Because clearly if any of these women were lying, these rich and powerful people would sue them for everything their worth.

Typical liberal mindset right here.
