Saw this kid in person today at the Regional Meet in Tallahassee...kid is a legit 220-230lb range and can fly!

Tight Ends are not supposed to be this fast......

Oooh ****! I didn't think he was that fast. It's not blazing, but for a 6'5 220 plus dude, yea, that's super impressive! Dam, that 17 class is becoming impressive by the day, and just think, two months ago folks was *****ing about this class lol. Hartly over there rubbing his palms like bird man with the Dexter stare..Love it!

Isn't sub 11 considered elite?

It’s defintiely blazing for his position

I mean 11.00 is pretty fast 4.5 - 4.6 range. from a track standpoint 10.95 or so is good, I'm not sure you can say elite. For his height and size, it's hella impressive tho. Matchup problem waiting to happen.

He's one fast dude, and I don't want him bulking up if it means losing that speed advantage. There's not a LB at this level that can cover him. Go back and watch his film. Not only is he fast, but he runs AMAZING routes, and has Charmin for hands. Him and Jordan are both matchup nightmares for DCs. Honestly, I don't remember ever getting two guys like this in one class. Both of them are 5 star talents.

Put it this way I was a track runner back in high school too and as a senior I ran an 11.2 (ended up top 12 in my province, I'm in northern Ontario Canada) and I also ran a high 4.5 that year and at 6'0 200lbs.
So with that being said Will Mallory is a freak of nature, you can put his 40 time anywhere between mid 4.4's and high 4.5's and considering his age and size is absolutely nuts.

Agreed. There’s also a very outside chance that a 4.7 could, too.

@DMoney Olsen ran 11.40 in high school.

For reference at combine
Matt Jones 6’6”, 242 lbs ran 4.37
A.J. Green 6’4”, 211 lbs ran 4.47
Alshon Jeffrey 6’3”, 216 ran 4.48
Greg Olsen 6’5”, 255 lbs ran 4.51
O.J. Howard 6’6”, 251 lbs ran 4.51
Michael Thomas 6’2”, 212 lbs 4.55
Plaxico Burress 6’5”, 231 lbs ran 4.59
Mike Evans 6’5”, 231 lbs ran 4.53
Travis Kelce 6’5”, 256 lbs ran 4.61
Larry Fitzgerald 6’3”. 225 lbs ran 4.48*
Dez Bryant 6’2”, 225 lbs ran 4.52*

*Pro Day (I don’t give a lot of weight to Pro day times because they’re not semi-automatic like the combine)

I said months ago that if Mallory shows up at the combine under 240 that i think he’ll run under 4.50 and If he comes in at 250 he’ll run under 4.60. But, does he have to be a tight end? Looking at the receivers above, Mallory’s skill set certainly matches up with a few (Evans sticks out to me).
You left Calvin Johnson off that list my friend. I believe he ran a 4.35 or something crazy

If he's up over 220 right now and putting up those times, hes' playing right away. I was concerned about whether he was going to be able to contribute immediately because he played football at around 205 and that's just too small for a college TE. Even one who plays mostly in the slot.
