OT: Dalvin Cook Arrested?

He is his lawyer doing his job. Don't believe one word of it

We don't...just like we didn't believe the DA or any other attorney associated with any controversy regarding this school...still don't stop these cats from playing on Saturdays.

Patel said it has been made clear to him that "there has been so much turmoil at FSU and there is a huge cloud, so [FSU] wants to make sure 100 percent that Dalvin has not done anything inappropriate."

Aha! It's a CLOUD

There ya go - Noles off the hook, learned a new trick from Goldie.

Dalvin Cook of Florida State Seminoles didn't strike woman, attorney says

An attorney for Florida State Seminoles running back Dalvin Cook told ESPN on Monday night that the player did not hit a woman last month and that battery charges are a result of pressure in Tallahassee based on recent high-profile cases in the media.

"Dalvin Cook did not strike this woman," Ricky Patel, a Miami-based attorney, said. "Players were leaving the scene at the same time. But Dalvin walked away before it got out of hand."

Patel said witnesses in the case were intoxicated. He said investigators were presented three versions of what occurred and that his research indicates one alleged witness was actually not present.

Patel said it has been made clear to him that "there has been so much turmoil at FSU and there is a huge cloud, so [FSU] wants to make sure 100 percent that Dalvin has not done anything inappropriate."

Patel said he believes recent domestic-violence cases against women involving dismissed FSU quarterback De'Andre Johnson and even former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice are playing a role in charges being filed in this case.

"This is not clean," Patel said. "There are conflicting statements. The woman and her dad -- who was not there -- identified Dalvin after being shown social-media pictures of Dalvin and some random people. It was an extremely unfair 'lineup.' The pressure is so high the assumption is 'he did it.' There is no judge and jury here. It's just not right."

Patel said he is concerned a jury could unfairly predetermine the case after it was reported Cook was cited for mistreating three dogs.

"I am hoping it doesn't create a bias," Patel said. "This is not a Michael Vick situation."

Patel said that not only did Cook not commit battery on the alleged victim, but that she actually struck Florida State receiver Travis Rudolph.

"The bottom line is this does not relate to Dalvin," Patel said. "There is no video. And regardless of if there is a video, there is no room for that type of behavior. But Dalvin walked away. He is not an individual that would be involved in attacking a woman."

Yep. Unless some more witnesses come forward or some evidence that has not been released comes to light (specifically, a video), the worst case scenario for this kid is a quarter vs. texas state as a gesture by the athletic department.

We tried to tell these sap suckers that Cook was going to walk as soon as the police report came out. It was intuitively obvious to even the most casual of observers that any attorney even one with a degree from FSU would be able to get him off of these charges.

yep...Wouldnt be surprised at all if he already had a few games under his belt by 10/10/15.

Jumbo should be embarrassed by a one game suspension for animal cruelty. Vick lost his whole career. Media should beat him up with that.

I feel like the NCAA is about to investigate FSU, and that they're going to end up in big trouble for numerous violations. Including covering up their players cases.

doubt it. the NCAA has always hated miami. same with the media. FSU got a free pass because it was there knight in shining armor

The DA must have a decent case and the plea bargains on the table will prevent him from playing. It's the only reason he would go to trial, to get exonerated completely.

What does them hating us have to do with FSU. I was just saying there's a lot of negative attention coming out of Tally lately, I have a feeling it's going to haunt them in the future.

I can't imagine an FSU player ever being convicted of anything. I don't think it's happened in 20+ years. Cook will walk and FSU fan will talk &#@t about how all these girls on campus are just out to get them. Never mind the obvious facts a) she was approached by 5-7 FSU players at a bar, b) she was sucker punched in the face repeatedly, c) clearly one of those players or more punched her in the face. No, they'll go on and on about how their players are being targeted and none of the allegations are true.
