Off-Topic OT: Best tv show of all time

Back in the 1970s, All in the Family stood out as much better than the other shows on TV. In the 1980s it was Fawlty Towers and L.A. Law. In the 1990s it was Frasier. I’m not sure how much of it was because those shows were truly great or just that there was less competition back then.

More recently, Borgias, Downton Abbey, and Modern Family have been the best.

EDIT: I forgot to include the great shows that were spoken in Spanish, Sr. Ávila and Epitafios.

  • A few sitcoms would make my list but I only put shows that follow a storyline on my list.
  • I could never get in Westworld. Tried it for about 2-3 episodes
  • Sons of Anarchy, Stranger Things, True Detective, Dexter, Titans, and Pesky Plinders are on me watchlist.
  • Power would have made my list if the last few seasons were as strong as the first 2

Deadwood is a good choice. It was a completely different take on the Western, but based on real life people and events. Although nowhere near historically accurate, which doesn’t really matter anyway as long as you know that.

The movie that just wrapped up the 10-year-old series was a nice touch by HBO

Lot of good choices I’ve seen in this thread. For me:

24
Seinfeld
Cheers
Married with Children
Everybody Loves Raymond
Roseanne
Wonder Years
Big Bang

Major nod to Sanford and Son and Good Times. Will watch those reruns any time. Want to put Chicago PD in there but I won’t. It’s more about Voight. One of the best tv characters on tv.
