OT: Beirut Explosion

[BS85]

This is pure insanity, **** 2020. They say at least 25 are dead, it's going to be a **** of a lot more than that.

Insane. Not a nuclear event but absolutely crazy. Here's another angle.

[Tad Footeball]

The dangerous thing about this (aside from the obvious loss of life, etc) is that Lebanon was already a country in a lot of turmoil economically and beyond and this could definitely exacerbate that whole dynamic.

What kind of explosion was that?

[PCBcanefan]

What the **** exploded? Was that a fuel storage site?

[Tad Footeball]

What the **** exploded? Was that a fuel storage site?

Supposedly a fireworks depot.

There was a time is was about the richest county in the Middle East - massive banking capital. Sad. That looked like a munitions ship. There was what appeared to be smaller round munitions going off like firecrackers and then that massive blast.

Fireworks warehouse

[5ringshowboutu]

Some of the craziest **** I ever did see

[Ksoze8]

Wow!!! That’s some scary stuff right there. It looks like a disaster from a movie.

[JTKoval]

Beautiful women.

Fireworks warehouse

Doesn't it say the airport in that second Twitter link?

[Suhrthing]

Ammonia nitrate or other bomb-making chemicals...

That shockwave was nuts. The roofs popping off those buildings like the Terminator dream sequence.

What happened?

[1LuvCane]

Seems like alot of you weren't around during the bombing of the marines base in beirut

[1LuvCane]

It is what it is. ....

[BishopEli]

Those videos from a distance are some of the scariest things I’ve seen, something out of a movie that’s some mad ****

[Silver King]

There appears to have been a lot more than Black Cats in that ship or wharehouse; That's a bigger blast than anything shown on CNN or BBC during Iraq or Afghanistan, even those B-52 dropped 2,000 pounders, Bunker Busters, or the Mother of All Bombs. That is going to scramble people's insides for a pretty good radius around the blast site.

[jkaz1]

There are always explosions there.

Back in '06 I left southern Lebanon a day or two before it and Israel exchanged some "fireworks".

Enjoyed my time there, but the timing was right to move on.
