OT: BAM ADEBAYO

Who? The league has been unwatchable for 20 years. I let it go when LeBron was still with the Heat. To think I once had a Heat license plate in the late 90's. I don't set eyes on the NBA. The last time I spied the NBA, Centers weren't playing in the paint anymore. They shot 3's and the face of the league was a flopping *****, who didn't want the ball with the game on the line. It was all fake.

Who’d have thunk it? Have you seen the defense (lack there of) played in the nba? It’s unwatchable.

In fairness to "defense"...

Bam had 36 points from the free-throw line, and 21 points on 7-22 shooting from the 3-point line. For comparison, Wemby went 8-15 from the 3-point line last night. Ain't nobody blocking 3's from Bam or Wemby.

Which means Bam had 26 points "the old-fashioned way".

I'd simply say, when you foul a guy as frequently as they fouled Bam last night, the points will add up.

I wouldn't put this one on "defense" or the lack thereof.

Valid points.

Sending a guy to the line over 40 times is bad defense.

People are hating because he didn't honor Kobe and tie it. Wonder if Kobe was here if he'd have wanted him to pass the 81 points?
With the way the game has changed, if Kobe was still here, he'd probably be averaging 80pts a game. Every regular season game is played like it's the All-Star game now.

Or good defense. What if all those fouls were easy layups instead. Bam could've had 100.

They were playing the Celtics-Spurs game in Atlanta, so I didn't see the whole game, I have no idea who was guarding Bam. I'm just pointing out the simple reality, if you can't stop a guy and are hoping to slow him down with the Slam-a-Bam system of fouling, that doesn't mean you are not playing defense, you just may not have a good matchup of personnel to defend a center who can hit 3's.

That's why Wemby is going to be so dominant. Seriously, can anyone "defend" that guy?
