OT: BAM ADEBAYO

Fouling too shoot more while up 20, it's embarrassing. I wish stern was still over the nba. The heat would be facing 8 figure fine as well as a lost draft pick or two. I use to love the nba but every year since 2015. Everybody plays the same. No defense also. The game I grew up watching and loved been died years ago. An they wonder why they rating are way down from 10 years ago.

If they didn’t send him to the line.. he might have had 90… he was absolutely abusing anyone defending him.
Yeah that’s bad defense. Not being able to defend someone without fouling is bad defense. I’m not trying to diminish Bam’s night, it was amazing. But let’s not act like the NBA emphasizes point prevention. They don’t, and it’s not even close.

You guys need to watch the last 5 mins. Absolute mickey mouse stuff. Miami intentionally fouling up 30. Other miami players missing free throws on purpose. Was a terrible look for NBA and miami. was a complete joke

The first 60-75 mins were legit. Great ball by bam.

Heat fouling only happened a couple times IIRC. The wizards, otoh, were doubling and tripling Bam starting in the 3rd and they were playing "hack a [insert anyone other than Bam] so F them.

Have you been watching the nba over the last 10 years? The whole thing has been a joke.

It’s become beyond unbearable for me to watch because of every other play is a foul. They’ve outlawed playing defense and the nba has set every rule towards this exact result

I agree with all the NBA concerns, and a guy going 36-43 from the line in a game is outrageous. The Heat shot 59 free throws as a team, which is also outrageous.

But at the same time Bam deserves his flowers. 83 points is almost beyond imagination . . .until we remember that Wilt scored 100 and “only” made 24 free throws in that game. Wilt also averaged 50 and 25 that season. Wilt and Jim Brown are the 2 players from the 50’s and 60’s that I wish we could see play against the athletes of today. I am confident they would both still dominate. Humans like them are few and far in between.

Have you read the rules of basketball, the ones that have been around for 100 years or more?

These are not new rules, this is just "enforcement of the rules". Under the rules of basketball, what the Detroit Pistons did in the 1980s was a violation of the rules.

In fairness to "defense"...

Bam had 36 points from the free-throw line, and 21 points on 7-22 shooting from the 3-point line. For comparison, Wemby went 8-15 from the 3-point line last night. Ain't nobody blocking 3's from Bam or Wemby.

Which means Bam had 26 points "the old-fashioned way".

I'd simply say, when you foul a guy as frequently as they fouled Bam last night, the points will add up.

I wouldn't put this one on "defense" or the lack thereof.

They were triple teaming him in the 4th quarter, to deny him the ball... most of the calls were perfectly legit.

And somehow you missed the part where they were triple teaming him and bodying him constantly in the 4th quarter to deny him the ball???

Idk how anyone can watch that game and say “there’s no defense played today” Bam was doubled/tripled nearly the whole 2H. Them boys did NOT want him to get 80💀

It's absolutely hilarious that a guy who is likely to finish his career around 15ppg will have an 83-point effort to his name. I love it.
