Don't know your affiliation, but it's taken a catastrophe for many Republican members to need the same services they call, Socialism, to see what and the affects are on everyday working Americans. The Republicans need/needed the money from Safety Net programs to fund Corporate/Wealthy Socialism Welfare. Now that you need federal assistance, I'm not hearing the rallying cry Socialism. Now be a real dedicated Republican and not apply for or accept Socialism dollars.

Name a country or period in time when Socialism worked for the ppl that lived under it? Where everyone was equally prosperous living the perfect life of luxury worry free... That is the fantasy land ideology of socialism right?

Self employed people are getting denied left and right. PUA only works for some and that requires jumping thru hoops. Govt is gonna have to open America soon. Over 52 million Americans are self employed.

This doesn't happen under any system, bruh. As long as there is money, there will be inequality.

This notion that socialism = free is a misunderstanding of what socialism is. We have for decades had socialism in America (you didn't think your local police department or those highways were funded by Amazon or Berkshire-Hathaway, did you)?

Also, and this is most important, a socialist structure does not mean you cannot gain wealth. There are plenty of billionaires in socialist countries. For every "Venezuela is a failed state that shows socialism that doesn't work" there's a Haiti, Sudan, or Afghanistan that shows pure capitalism is no better. There's no such thing as a perfect system.

Anyway, my only response to the OP is: You actually got through to the Florida Unemployement Office?!?! Respect.

Haiti, Sudan and Afghanistan are not capitalist.

Furthermore, capitalism is not a form of government.

Ding ding ding. Correct, Mr. Madison. Capitalism is an economic system based on private ownership as a means of production and profit.

Based on that definition, Haiti, Sudan, and Afghanistan -- all free market economies with little to no central economic planning are capitalist. They are certainly closer on that spectrum than socialist of communist.

This whole bailout is nothing but corporate welfare. This country is all about socialism on both sides!
This bailout is unprecedented, the whole country is hurting and people are losing jobs and companies will die. In 2009 the previous administration bailout of corporations like GM and Chrysler was very controversial but was it warranted? Both car makers were losing billions even before the bailout. Ford said no thanks. Hey what can I say I drive a Cadillac today... I only drive American.

But they aren’t free market economies, those economies are very much controlled by the respective governments.

And even then, I can list an entire roster of other failed states with capitalist systems if you want to continue to haggle over those 3 examples. The point remains: There is no perfect system. Capitalism has failed nations just as much as socialism has.

If you genuinely believe that any of those three countries have market economies, then I don’t know what else to say other than your beliefs are mistaken and I’ll leave it at that.

Socialism, communism and all other forms of command or centrally planned economies and the forms of government that are required to direct such economies have wrought infinitely more destruction than capitalism.

(P.S: Those aren't my beliefs about those countries. Those are the facts. Carry on.)

262k were denied which was 40% of the applicants. Our CPA said 100% all of us that were denied all qualify for unemployment. She told our boss to have us all reapply under the new site they created. But wouldn't you know it crashed today around 11 am and was down for the rest of the day.

Bailouts, both for banking (yes, that includes AIG and Lehman Brothers) and for the automakers, were begun under the previous, PREVIOUS, administration. I’d say, “…Don’t let the regurgitation-TV, hateful talk-radio, and alt-intellect sites mind poisoning through repetition convince you that fiction is fact”, but you’re so far gone …

Bush approves bailout[edit]
On December 19, George W. Bush announced that he had approved the bailout plan, which would give loans of $17.4 billion to U.S. automakers GM and Chrysler, stating that under present economic conditions, "allowing the U.S. auto industry to collapse is not a responsible course of action."[80] Bush provided $13.4 billion now, with another $4 billion available in February 2009. Funds would be made available from the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008.[81] General Motors would get $9.4 billion, and Chrysler $4 billion.[82]

However, it had been argued that the Treasury lacked the statutory authority to direct TARP funds to the automakers, since TARP is limited to "financial institutions" under Section 102 of the TARP. It was also argued that providing TARP funds to automaker's financing operations, such as GMAC, runs counter to the intent of Congress for limiting TARP funds to true "financial institutions".[83] On December 19, 2008, President Bush used his executive authority to declare that TARP funds may be spent on any program he personally deems necessary to avert the financial crisis, and declared Section 102 to be nonbinding.[citation needed]

This one is controversial too. If these companies are self sustaining let them crash and burn. Other well run companies will come. and take their place. Idc what anybody says bailing these major corporations out like this is stupid. People justify it when their favorite political party is in office. This bailout is bernie sanders esque.
