Rumor (OP speculates that) Dawson (might be) gone?? (but does not provide any info)

Word on the street is that there is definite smoke about Miami Oc Shannon Dawson Being fired, or if he is not being fired, then taking another job opening, or at the very least, staying on as OC for the Hurricanes. Expect an announcement this afternoon, unless this drags on until tomorrow, in which case you can expect something from the university by Thursday, unless things are delayed by unforseen circumstances. The lead Candidate to take over for Dawson, should be leave or be terminated, is Ken Dorsey, or possibly Jason Candle, unless it's not. If those two Candidates fall through there are several contingency options in place that might or might not be available.

this is the first class, insider information that i expect when i pay $25 per annum

I believe it was due to the fact that we couldn't manhandle their defensive line. Mybe he could have adjusted sooner.

it was clear we could not move their DL, so YES he should have done something about it after two runs produced nothing. this is for all the marbles. there is zero room for error.

i will say this, Miami beat Miami and we got thoroughly outcoached on both sides of the ball. and EVEN with that, we still had a chance to win the game. in fact, we should have won the game.

My gripe with Dawson is why does it require being in the red zone to get creative? For example, that second TD for to Fletcher was a thing of beauty. He ran that rainbow motion with Mally and the whole defense ran that way a never recovered. Why can that type of play not be used on 3rd and short on the other side of the 50. I am genuinely asking any X and O gurus in here.

He seems to me like a guy that only can get creative when absolutely necessary. Otherwise it’s just base level. Not saying I’d make a better OC or anything lol but he really has to have his back against the wall to go off script

This is only speculation on my end but would not be surprised if these are some of the reasons.
#1 - Mirabal has a decent amount of control in the run game and takes the "let's bully them approach".
#2 - Dawson is an Air Raid guy first and not as comfortable calling "Mario Ball".
#3 - Dawson seems pretty stubborn and refuses to adjust until you absolutely have to have it.
*I still cannot understand for the life of me why we do not run more outside zone.

He was handcuffed this year with Beck, and couldn't possibly run the O he wanted anyway. I think he did a great job, considering our QB is allergic to 30 yard passes.
Nah man...It was good enough to win 16 games this year, when we took our heads out of our asses.

And why was he "handcuffed" with the QB and WRs in Year 3 as OC?

Not letting him and the staff off the hook so easy when getting Beck was considered a strong offseason move.

Beck couldn't hit the broad side of a barn downfield. What Shannon did with the O with those limitations is something else, really. Every game we lost we lost because of a Beck INT. You think he didn't limit us?

Just based off the candidate names I know it’s bs. Nobody wants Dorsey as a OC. And candle just took the UConn job. He wouldn’t even leave toledo to come here

this would be bad. We'd lose continuity in our staff and Mensah will ball in a true air raid. Beck limited what Dawson could call
