Onto Next Year! Woohoooo! Going to be a busy offseason!

The NCAA did remove the 25 player cap. And Mario has a year from the date he was hired to tell players whether he wants them to return or not, so expect a lot to hit the portal in December.

Come next spring and summer it's guaranteed there will be threads and posts predicting us to win the ACC Coastal, the ACC. a shot at the playoffs and of course. a record of either 12-0, 11-1, or 10-2.
Why?
Because:
1 We will be bigger, stronger, and faster
2 It will be addition by subtraction as to this players that transfer out
3 Our incoming players will "get it" and have the right "culture" and will "buy in"
4 The phenomenon described by some as "toxicity" will be greatly reduced
5 On paper at least, similar to this past year, several of our incoming players will represent a major upgrade in "talent acquisition"
6 We will be more experienced in year 2 of this coaching regime; the infamous leap will happen
7 There will be some coaching changes (yes I know this is obvious) and that will be another addition by subtraction and upgrade
AND
8 Blah, blah, blah

In other words mostly the same stuff that's posted every spring and summer.
I like Cristobal and hope there is great improvement next season but I'm not falling for the banana in the tailpipe thing again.
Will need to see it to believe it.

Go Canes!!!
Who tells you they want to play for this team. It's a joke

This is one of the top 3 worst seasons since 1979. Been the worst since 2007....maybe my least favorite ever....yes....it is
2007 was rough for sure. Having to endure Kirby Freeman at qb was not fun, but at least the team beat FSU and didn't lose to any FCS schools that year. Played a more difficult schedule as well in 2007.

After the final game last year, I had ranked that 2021 season as my least favorite and most frustrating. I know we didn't have a losing record, but I thought we vastly underperformed based on our players and schedule. Never thought the 2022 season would be worse than last year, but this season has easily surpassed 2007, 2021 and all others as the worst season. From crazy penalties in games, turnovers, injuries, giving up big plays, missed tackles, cant stop anybody on 3rd down, head scratching time outs, horrific red zone play calling and play calling in general, lack of team chemistry, etc....definitely worst season ever.

That's actually a disaster. There's no way on Earth I want to have 50 players leave the team. That's NCAA sanctions type stuff...entering the season with just 65 scholarship players. You can have Lane Kiffin as your OC with complete control...we'll be even worse next year if that happens.

Initial counters are waived for two years. This would be the opposite of disaster and be the quickest most efficient way to overhaul a roster, ever.

In that scenario where you lose 50 kids, can you theoretically sign 50 high school students. Or is it 25 high school students and the rest have to be transfers?

You can bring in as many recruits or transfers as you can to get to 85. This would be the time for a mass exodus that wouldn't cripple a program.

Normally I agree with you. 20 transfers or more would be a death penalty.

I'm all for maximizing this opportunity to cut dead weight.
