No, went about 8 yards. Bubba’s angle was bad on the kick.
If we take off the fan glasses outside of the defense the offense and special teams is so bad.

Kick it out of the end zone and let the D play. They've carried us all year. That type of call cuts deeper than just the outcome of the game. I'm willing to bet they're some guys on defense that aren't to happy. The game's on the line and you can risk 15 yards of field position (start at their 25 or their 40) to get the ball back, of course you do it. It's more on ST coaching for such a god awful kick.

Did the kick even go the required 10 yds.
I’m pooching/squibbing it inside the 10 and letting the only unit worth a **** play ball. Put it in the hands of your defense. If they don’t hold you lose. 3 minutes and 3 time outs. A 3 and out and you get the ball, minimum, your own 40 with a minute and a half to play, with a QB that has brought you from behind before. I didn’t like the call and I don’t think an onside kick is a 50/50 proposition. More like 80/20.
How about we run back the punt return and not worry about the 3 and out. So many what ifs?Yeah and if we got a 3 and out and the offense couldn't move the ball people would've been on here questioning why he didn't do an onside kick after a 15 yard penalty. Obviously no one likes the result, but I'm fine with the decision to do an onside kick there. It was just one of the worst onside kicks I've ever seen in my life.

Sorry Einstein. No offense. I'm just a football ignorant. So many people with perfect 20/20 vision as well.
Went about 8 instead of 10 but how does 2 yards make a huge difference when our special teams sucked at covering the kick

Cool brother. Different philosophy. Spice of life.Just saying, it's real easy to look back at a play that didn't work and ***** about it. 15 yards of field position for a chance to get the ball back is a no brainer to me.
Strange to see so many negative reactions to this. This comment is spot on. They did it because of the 15yds. Options are 1) uva ball probably at 25, or 2) chance to immediately get ball back or uva ball at their 40. Either way your D is going to need to hold, which they did.The game's on the line and you can risk 15 yards of field position (start at their 25 or their 40) to get the ball back, of course you do it. If either the kicker and ST dont F it up so bad or 7va just jumps on it, we force the stop and they punt to us with 230 left only down 3. It wasnt a terrible call at all, just horrifically executed so it looks terrible in hindsight.
Who hired our horrible ST coach and sat idly by for three years while it has sucked every single game? This is all on Richt.
