One thing I noticed rewatching TAMU game…

Lofton wasn’t healthy in game one. He definitely looks different now and there’s no way he’s gonna be overpowered by any linebacker when he’s healthy.

Texas shouldve beat them and shouldve beat them bad just poor execution they had guys open and guys were dropping balls and didnt score one pt in the redzone on 4 attempts including a 4 & goal on the 1 tried to tush push instead of using wisner .. i like us as the underdog again

Seems like Arvell Reese was getting the hype early on in the season and now it’s Sonny styles
Sonny is more of a traditional linebacker, reese is the modern athletic hybrid linebacker/edge

Me personally i wouldn’t draft reese as high as some would because i don’t know if he can be a great edge rusher so his value isn’t top5 because he might be playing linebacker

He’ll get the micah parsons comparisons but i don’t think he’s the same level of athlete but he does have some great traits

He definitely has an extra gear and can run very well

Elijah Lofton is knocking people back again.

As the president of his fan club headed into the season, my biggest surprise was the drop off in his physicality. I think the shoulder injury had a lot to do with that.

When Lofton is blocking like a fullback, his overall game becomes much more effective. We’ll need all of that and more against the best LBs in America.
This is the perfect game/opportunity for Elija Lofton to have a breakout game as a weapon in the passing game catching anywhere from 5-8 passes and providing a dependable safety valve for Beck.

Shannon Dawson was in a foul mood a few days ago and frankly, I don't blame him. The media has been pounding this narrative that Miami couldn't score in a Thai whorehouse with a bag full of 100's. All week our kids have been listening to a bunch of talking heads saying that we have no chance. The offense hearing they can't score and the defense hearing that they will have a very difficult time stopping OSU'S WRs. Like usual, Miami has been quiet and nothing but complimentary of Ohio State. Let's see what happens tonight.

Did you pay attention to the WIND. TAMU 1 long ball.
Vertical doesn’t necessarily mean long ball, it can be 5-15 yds. Throwing on 1st & 10 and getting a quick 5 yds is great. doing that on 3rd & long against a defense that is great on 3rd downs is not. That’s wat Dawson was doing, dude was wasting 1-2 downs and putting himself in terrible 3rd down situations. The amount of WRs screens and handoffs to Toney was ridiculous.

Beck threw 20 times, half of those were probably WR screens, 5 of them long balls, and the other 5 5-10 yds. In the 2nd half Dawson had a series were he spread A&M out and Beck threw 2 easy 7-10yds completions on early downs. Stuff like that was open all game. Instead A&M was locked on to every tendency we had and when Dawson did decide to throw a 5-10 yd pass it came on 3rd and long. Too little and too late.

People keep hyping Lofton up, we will see if he is a big time player for big time football.. Not sure this is the game for him.. Hopefully he shows something, anything..

It would be nice for him to contribute now that it seems as though he has healed up. I'm not counting on it but it would be a most welcome development.

Because our vertical shots are at random and not setup.... Dawson's biggest flaw as a play caller is lack of patience to setup the kill shot.

Lashley was the best I have seen among the modern era of Canes OCs
This is actually pure garbage but it’s game day and I’m gonna pretend I didn’t read it
