One player who could fit well with Beck

The issue isn't them. It's that there is no other big among the receiving corp. Daniels is generously listed at 6'2". And Moore has a long wing span, too. So Moore best matches up with Beck on contested catch plays, assuming we want to go that route.
The problem with contested catch plays is 50/50 or less.

What happens when those probabilities streak towards the drop/misses side?

Not good.

Nothing to do with that, just a thought I had after watching hours of Beck film.

CJ Daniels can do similar things with the ball in the air.
You got a plug for game film in CFB. I be tired of going on YouTube and watching the broadcast version of games.

I want to see the coaches film. Is there something like that for the public or just coaches and plugged in people?

Hence my comment "assuming we want to go that route". ... Rambo made a ton of contested plays, the hit rate was more like 70% with him, and I don't remember him dropping the ball or allowing the defender to intercept the ball. So it is a viable option given how accurate Beck can be, especially when we're close to or inside the RZ. I like the wide open catches Dawson seems to scheme up better though.

On Labor Day the team who can pass the ball down the field has a big advantage. The Irish will plan to challenge us down the field, and we will need to win down the field vs their CBs. This is where we can win the game. I do have one concern, it will take Beck some time to get comfortable with his WRs, small chance they are at that point on Labor Day. Hopefully it’s good enough.
Dawson needs to call an aggressive game. Any tentative play calling favors ND with Freeman being a defensive guy.

I’d like someone to go back and check our scoring percentage on our opening drives last year compared to the rest of the NCAA

**** I’d like to see it compared to anyone in the history of the NCAA ( @OrangeBowlMagic where you at)

All the years of us coming out flat and unprepared, our offense last year was almost automatic on the opening drive with putting up points, and usually touchdowns

Getting ahead and getting the crowd into it so hopefully we can lean on the run game and our defense not giving up 30 second touchdowns

I might not know how to react if we got a 3 and out on defense after what we saw last year

If we wait till Labor Day, we'll be a day late since the game is Sunday lol (just messing with you)

Yup. He does it with subtlety and body control versus Mossing dudes, but if you put a ball back shoulder to him I expect him to track the ball better than the DB and make the play. Tremendous strong hands at the catch point.

Moore is more pure size and athleticism. Jojo is playing the ball late and creating separation at the last minute via elite body control.

Excited to watch both make plays down the field.
Sounds like a more athletic version of Charleston Rambo. I was a big fan of Rambo at Miami. He tracked the ball so well and would throttle down on deep balls so he could screen the defender and use his slight frame to win way more 50/50 balls than he should have and also draw a lot of PIs.

IMO Becks top targets will end up being: (overall targets/receptions)

1. Jojo
2. Lofton
3. CJ
4. Bauman
5. Marion
6. Malachi Toney

Lots of potential but potential can go both ways. This WR room can also end up turning out like the 2022 WR room if some of our guys don’t make a leap.

But the thing is, I think a leap is made. Trader/Lofton & Toney are 3 guys that can really change things up for us in a good way.

Really curios to see if Schott can carve out a role. Josh Moore will be really really good in 2026 for either Nickle or Coleman.

Our offense is sneaky deep imo. Brown/Fletcher & Lyle are a great 3 Back trio and it is only right that we assume that Fletcher/Lyle improve off of their 2024 seasons

I’d compare this offense to the one Mario had at Oregon when he went to Columbus and beat OSU except 2025 Miami has the more talent QB.

Us having an Elite OL will dramatically help both Beck and the WR core and the TE room as well as the run game. We will hold up with teams Physically and our Secondary has been revamped and is the most talent we have had since 2017

I’m in the boat that our WR room gets it done and Beck has a comeback year and mirrors 2023.

He lowkey feasted with RBs and TEs last season. His wr dropped a TON of balls. I’m still not sold on Beck like I was with Cam, but he really looked comfortable with those positions in big moment last year.
If the bar to be sold on someone at QB is Cam Ward, you're bar is too high.

Meant more in regards to his transition from WSU to Miami
What like personality, leadership, off-field stuff?
If that's the case it's same thing. Beck has to follow up Ward AND rehab from his injury. So much different/more difficult position for him to follow imo
