One Overlooked Factor in UM’s Favor (vs UF)

They've played like 1 P4 team in those 35 years and it was Utah lol and it took magic from AR15 and an INT from Rising for them to win
And South Carolina in 2020 but that was Florida's best team in recent memory and South Carolina was terrible.

Also guessing they had covid restricted crowds anyway.

South Carolina had to play Tenn in their first game. UF played at Ole Miss (Lanes first game as HC).

15k in attendance for the South Carolina game. That team was Muschamps last team, he got fired during the season.

For sure. For more reasons than just being on the road.. game 1 in the system, game 1 with helmet communication, new personnel, etc. PLUS the environment.. I do think Cam Ward plays below his season averages.

Don't think he has to play above. The running game, OL and DL are the difference and win this game.

My only hesitation is our secondary is going to have to tackle on the perimeter consistently all night. Game 1 that is usually a struggle anyway and it's amplified when its on the road, insanely hot and humid, and our secondary doesn't tackle great to begin with.
Kinda similar to last year right? If our QB just doesn’t implode, we win. Simple equation.

Agree with the secondary, I’m hoping and our Dline recks havoc. If they can get to Mertz with 4-5, force things to only the short passing game, and we can have numbers on the perimeter, it will mask that concern.

Thought we were just talking about UFs home opener? Regardless if it was game 1 or not.

We are. I'm just saying that South Carolina had a tougher game before going into the Swamp vs UF first game which was Lanes first game at Ole Miss. so UF got a reeling South Carolina team for its home opener in front of 15k

I have a 7 month old that is sleeping 9-10-11 hours straight nearly every night. Put her down at 830-9 and she's out until I wake her up.

I must be lucky. Never been more rested.

That was my first to a tee until she realized mommy and daddy weren’t in the same room so she got up 3 times a night to cry.

We moved her to her room at 3 months.. don't strike that fear into me.

My dad has a cardboard cutout of me from college that I will put in her room if I have to.
I wouldn’t wish it on you but maaaannnn the wife had the hardest time listening to her cry for a few minutes straight. Let’s just say I was sleeping on the edge for a handful of months

I think the fact so much is being made about crowd noise just shows how devoid of anything scary there is on their team
on paper, we should roll. we are better than them at nearly every position outside of a clear advantage at secondary and thats a toss up (we just lack depth honestly and a ton of young guys).

UiF has some talent in the pipeline that’s probably a year or two away from being good (if they don’t portal)

This year to me looks like a really tough one on paper for them trying to replace everything they lost from a bad team

The crowd **** is starting to sound like some mythical feature in this game lol, yes it will play a factor but bro we dont have a team full of freshmen, we have vets on offense especially

If the crowd really messes up alot we have going then we just weren’t prepared enough or the players sunk under pressure
This game went from Da Gawd and Super Canes vs. G5Billy and the UF Cheeks to every worry in the world in the days leading up to the game...

We have the better team. Win the game. No excuses!

We roll!!!

About the topic in the OP, are having a toddler that doesn't sleep?
Yes, let's do talk more about toddler's sleeping habits. Then we can move on to tips about making moist cupcakes and the perfect frosting to cake ratio.

* I was kidding, but I honestly believe you have good answers to those as well.

When did the Swamp suddenly become what the Orange Bowl was from 1985-1994? So many posters and pundits are acting like UF never loses at home.
Exactly. They lost the last time they played there. To last place Arkansas.

Well there also is a reason being at home is usually worth like 3 points against the spread. Plus first game of season, angainst a rival where games are almost always close regardless of talent level, and using a brand new communications system….

I definitely think that aspect is real. I think we will be the better team in this game and this season. But also while we like aren’t respecting their OLine, someone like PFF actually is cause they like their 3 returning starters - especially their center. And the biggest problem for us may be turnovers which can derail any game. And Mertz just really isn’t a guy that turns it over much. Meanwhile Ward has shown to have a fumbling problem. We will see…

I’m confident we win. I think the score will be closer than the game actually is. Only way we blow them out is if we don’t have any turnovers.

Vegas has them winning 4.5 games this season. They lost there best D player and 2nd best O player. Their D was awful last year, across the board. They didn't bring in much from the portal, have a few players back and a few players injured. I like it being a day game more than a night game atmosphere. Saying all that, if we win by a extra point, it's a win. Losing this game is not acceptable. Their is simply to much on the line. The kitchen sink is being thrown at this game particularly. Locked and loaded. Go Canes!
