One Overlooked Factor in UM’s Favor (vs UF)

RB (at least 1) that will undoubtedly play in the NFL.

WRs (at least 2) that will undoubtedly play in the NFL.

TE (at least 1) that will undoubtedly play in the NFL.

OL (at least 3) that will undoubtedly play in the NFL.

I don't think this is homer fanboy bull**** at all, we could be sitting here in 2028 and say that there are 8-10 guys currently on this offense that are either starting or playing a big role in the NFL.

If you have 8-10 guys on one college offense who are all going to be getting snaps in the NFL, there is no excuse to struggle on offense. I'm not saying I expect 50 points. But IDGAF about the swamp, first game, the heat, etc. There are no excuses to struggle on offense. If we don't score at least 27 points, I'll be incredibly disappointed. And that's probably too low, but we'll start there.

Everyone on the team in 2022 played at Kyle Field, Death Valley/Memorial Stadium at Clemson, and Lane Stadium. 3 of the top 12 toughest places to play in the country - easily 2 that I would rank above the Swamp, including the toughest place to play in the country. I was at all 3 of those and I don't think the crowd was overwhelming for us in any of them. VT got loud late when we let them back in it. Kyle Field was loud consistently but couldn't see the impact on the field. We just had Gattis calling plays. We had true freshman Jacurri playing his first game at Clemson and he handled it well and actually had us in striking distance if he could have hit a wide open Restrepo.

Everyone on the team in 2023 played at Doak Campbell and Carter-Finley. Carter-Finley is one of the most underrated tough places to play. Fans get rowdy there and they are right on top of you on the sideline.

The road noise should only apply to the offense. Guys that weren't here have mostly all played in big games at intimidating venues
Ward - Autzen Stadium, Husky Stadium, Camp Randall
Martinez - Autzen, Huskey, Rice Eccles
Carpenter - Beaver Stadium, Big House, Horseshoe, Memorial Stadium in Lincoln - all last season.

One thing that stuck out to me on these highlights..those Wazzou WRs were pretty **** good. These weren’t wide open catches in every scenario. They won a lot of 1:1 battles and contested battles. Our WRs will need to help Cam out at times because it won’t be pitch and catch every time.

this game will be like FSU vs LSU last year which was essentially a LSU home game in new orleans
may be close in the first half
but I expect us to pull away in the second as the talent difference in the trenches will take over as the game wears on
and expect at least two big plays by brown

What no one is actually talking about that is a real difference...

How their fans going crazy with our offense on the field impacts their defense and that communication. Especially with a new "starting" MLB in Pup Howard. Maybe he doesn't start but he plays a lot. Then, 3 additions that are going to play a lot in the secondary in Turner, Bridges, and Douglas. Shemar James is wearing the helmet with the sound equipment.. but if he comes out or they have issues hearing it or it comes in late... I think it hurts them more than it hurts our offense that is already huddling and taking plays in from the sideline.

Easy way to offset the noise and make it an advantage is to dress up plays with motions and misdirection and force them to communicate and shift. It's a lot easier to communicate in silence on offense when you know the plays and what you're running than on defense which is completely reactionary.

we had a QB, WR, DE, and RB all portal so they could raise their draft stock from Day 2/3 to 1/2
i expect those players to come in and put in work like a business trip
we have multiple players that know its their money year so I expect this team to have a very professional approach and wont be rattled by the swamp
these gators act like its worse than clemson at night or even VT on a friday night

If we aren’t driving down the field consistently on every team we play then we should all know we are simply getting out coached, either from preparation or we aren’t adjusting when the bullets are flying

Always overlooked.

Noise and tough environments really suck when you put yourself into trouble and throw picks, fumble, or give up big plays. It is deflating. Reminds me of ND at Hard Rock just getting absolutely overwhelmed and that game was over in the 1st quarter when Jaquan picked that ball of the tip and then Rosier had a big TD run a play or 2 later. HRS erupted and they folded.

Avoid that kind of situation and I think we're good.

I think the point is that road games and stadiums matter. Sucks to admit, but UF is a tough place to play. They haven’t lost a home opener in 35 years. The new communication headsets, it plays a factor in communication, procedure issues, turnovers etc. what I’m pointing out is the CW experience SHOULD help negate those items. If we were rolling out TVD again, I’d be ****ting bricks. But we’re not, we are rolling out a guys that probably loves this environment. He’s proved he can excel in such games.

The ONE thing Florida has in their favor is that it’s a home game for them. But if they think the swamp is going to intimidate a dude who carried a horrible team in Outzen and Husky Stadium, then they’re in for a huge shock. I know they think that anything outside of the SEC doesn’t count but those two Pacific Northwest stadiums are as loud as anywhere.

When did the Swamp suddenly become what the Orange Bowl was from 1985-1994? So many posters and pundits are acting like UF never loses at home.

Great points. David Lake at 247 had a solid article showing future NFL QB performances at UF the past two years. (Joe Milton, Brady Cook, Levis, Rattler etc.) UF went 4-2 in those games and only Jayden Daniels played above his season avgs.

Cam Wards past has me feeling confident that he we will play well, and not let sound, game 1 factors impact things (procedure issues, turnovers, etc.)

For sure. For more reasons than just being on the road.. game 1 in the system, game 1 with helmet communication, new personnel, etc. PLUS the environment.. I do think Cam Ward plays below his season averages.

Don't think he has to play above. The running game, OL and DL are the difference and win this game.

My only hesitation is our secondary is going to have to tackle on the perimeter consistently all night. Game 1 that is usually a struggle anyway and it's amplified when its on the road, insanely hot and humid, and our secondary doesn't tackle great to begin with.
