One of the podcasts mentioned PJ Fleck as a possibility. Thoughts?

Edit. Nevermind. He's okay. If we take a Midwestern guy, I say Campbell and Fickell more. But if not Mario, talk Chris Petersen out of retirement. Money for him, money for his staff, money for analysts. Get it done. Hire an AD for football only so he only reports to him and not Blake.

I think the shine with him has worn off with him a bit. He should have cashed in after that 11 win season.

I would pass on him, not convinced he’s as good as coach as some believe.
I think he did cash in after that season. I agree he’s not high on my list and I don’t think he would want to leave to come here anyway.

He's an OK play caller, he knows how to identify & develop talent at WR. He has no ties to Miami/Florida though & can't really recruit. I would be OK with him if we hired some good recruiters around him ala Herm Edwards, but I doubt he's high on the list, plus his buyout is crazy.

The latest through the smoke. I believe Ivins, who was the guest speaker, mentioned PJ as a possibility and the other guys agreed.

Hes turned around pretty much every program he's been to and he's only 40 years old with like 8 years of HC experience, he's getting paid a ton at Minnesota, I think 5M per year, his buyout isn't bad only 3.75M in 2022. Fleck would be an absolute no brainer in my opinion

Yeah, I have to agree. Until they mentioned his name on the podcast, I hadn't even thought about him, but if he were willing to come, he would instantly be in my top 3 - 1. Mario 2. Lane 3. Fleck

Fleck is one of the best leaders in college football, I definitely don't think he's fake
As was already mentioned, he has been a success wherever he's gone. Don't know if he'd even be interested, but he's definitely someone who should get a phone call from someone in leadership from UM.
