One of the podcasts mentioned PJ Fleck as a possibility. Thoughts?

I know a lot of people won't like this but I would at least give Tom Herman an interview. Hes 49-22 as a HC and he really didn't do a bad job at Texas, he was 32-18 over there and was fired after going 7-3, he also won 4 straight bowl games. He's 46 with a lot of experience and connections and we could afford him.

He's by far not the first guy on my list, but if we don't get one of the top two, then why not do due diligence and bring him in? What he did at Houston was an according to Hoyle miracle and UT is a dumpster fire that can't get out of its own way. Again, he would be behind other guys for me, but if we strike out on our top guys, they should at least have a conversation with him.

I agree and sitting out of college football for a year while he gets his buyout Money, should help him learn from his mistakes. He wouldn't be first on my list, but I could get behind a Tom Herman hire

My caveat would be that when this hypothetical convo would happen with Herman, it can't be a non-professional questioning him like Blake. It has to be a serious football professional who has a track record of discernment. If we strike out on the top guys and he is interviewed, we need someone with savvy to ask him the right questions and have the ability to analyze his responses.

I'm all about second chances. My career has had all kinds of ups and downs and I can attest that sometimes, you are in the wrong environment for your skillsets to work properly and that could have absolutely been the case for Herman. Again, the miracle he pulled off in Houston in a short amount of time is just jaw dropping and if the same guy who did that, could also do that here, then that's a guy I want coaching us.

I agree with that. I do believe his shtick would be embraced in SFL as soon as he collected 10 wins in a season, but the NFL is not made for some people (Looking at you Saban, Schiano, Butch) and it DEFINITELY isn't made for Fleck. But, winning changes everything and makes everyone more attractive like a 5th shot of whiskey at a pick up bar.

Fleck would work in Miami once he had some success, I have zero doubts about that. Now, if he somehow struggled down here, people would shove his corny shtick up where the sun don't shine, but I don't think they'd get the chance because he would be a guaranteed 10 win coach IMO.

10 win guaranteed head coach? Has happened one time since 2003 at The U.
Fleck is 2-7 vs ranked teams at Minny. 1-5 at Western and the W was vs 24 Toledo.
He's a **** of a WR coach. 100% on that one.
But the SFL jokers will laugh their asses off at how lame he is.
He definitely will run players off and get rid of the lazy turds.
But I'm not sure if he gets away with the JUCO/lower academic standard chit at Miami.

All things considered I definitely would be open to it as well

Any competent coach would win 10 games most years at Miami. Pick a coach whose team is currently listed in the top 15 and has been at his job for at least 3 years, who wouldn't come and knock out 10 games.

Manny's hot garbage and if he had been a mediocre HC, he would've fallen backward into 10 wins this season. I totally stand by that statement. If Fleck came here, he would win 10 a year or more unless the Coastal suddenly turned into the SEC West.

The question for Fleck isn't whether he would improve us or make us at least a regular top 12 team, any jabroni should be able to do that at Miami, but whether or not he is a NC caliber coach.

All that stated, just back the Brinks truck to the Christabol's home and bring back Mario!
 
Man y'all are some picky mofos. "No more ties." "No catch phrases." "So Fla kids don't care for that."

Man, I don't care if our next coach is 3 ft tall with 2 heads. green skin, and who can only speak backwards. My only want from a coach is someone who can GSD aka have us play to at least the supposed talent level we have if not higher, and win games we are supposed to win convincingly.
 
He’s a rah rah guy who is gimmicky but very hard nosed. His offenses have fewer plays than lashlee so I wouldnt get too hyped over that working here
