This morning on Mike & Mike they had Todd McShay...

McShay's thoughts on Kaaya: was that it's very hard to evaluate him right now, because the Offensive Line is getting him killed... Also Kaaya lacks the Big Arm, on the other hand he's Accurate & Processes Things Quickly

Also spoke about Watson, & Kizer, Trubisky

Watson: not a 1st round pick, doesn't make the NFL style throws, not accuracy beyond 10 yards

Kizer: all the physical tools , very intelligent person, but slow to process on the field, inconsistent with accuracy & decisions

Trubisky: highest rated QB, but doesn't have enough starts to enter the NFL, needs another year

The big arm? He can make any throw and zip it in there...

if he can play like he did on Saturday for the remainder of the year I'd love to have him back. If he reverts to the 8 games prior, then the NFL would be a good place for him.

The way he played in the second half of the notes same game, is the exact way he needs to to silence his critics. He was really slinging the ball around, throwing it into tight windows which was the arm strength problem everyone has. What is more impressive is he started doing that right after he was picked off trying to fit the ball into a closing window. I think Kaaya will have a tremendous closing finish to this season. Should really consider coming back for his senior year.

McShay is notoriously bad with his evaluations. He lists a strength for Kaaya as processing information quickly, but I don't see that as a strength.

His accuracy and placement when he gets time to set up are his strengths. Unfortunately, his ability to slide around in the pocket is terrible. You can't be a horrendous athlete and take unnecessary sacks with awful feel and the inability to make small movements in the pocket and be a high NFL pick.

His lack of ability to make small movements in the pocket, which you don't need to be a "mobile QB" to do, is his biggest downfall. The ability to run is overrated when it comes to taking or not taking sacks. The ability to move slightly in the pocket without staring down the rush while continuing to make progressions is EVERYTHING.

Dan Marino couldn't outrun a slug, but his little slides and shuffles in the pocket were legendary. Same with Manning and Brady and all the other greats who can't run.
