One area that’s concerning

Beck/ we need to come out and play like we did against ND but without letting the foot of gas until the clock strikes zero.

I’m with you. I feel good about him at QB. Patricia won’t make it easy on him but we can certainly beat OSU in a street fight
 
Patricia vs Beck/Dawson is far and away my biggest concern in the entire game. I think we match up quite well in every other area. IMO this is where they have their biggest advantage and why I keep saying first to 20 wins.

The total is a very sharp number imo. It’s so hard to take an under in a college game at 42.5 but that’s where im leaning. If we win this game, its likely 20-17.

It makes things confusing for a DC trying to scheme around stopping a slot guy, since that player can be moved around, you never know where he’ll align, and he’s often off the LOS. That makes it harder to jam or disrupt the release.

The game will come down to Beck and the passing game, plain and simple. We won’t be able to line up and maul them like an undersized A&M defense. We just need to run enough to keep them off balance—at least get the attempts. Unlike @Hurricane23, I don’t like this matchup as much as the previous game, but I still see his point. There are enough areas where we have advantages, and IMO this game is very winnable. Just don’t beat ourselves—which is easier said than done.

OSU is the better team overall, I thought that with our physicality, and our big corners we’d match up better against OSU’s receivers, instead of A&M’s quicker, more dynamic types. Being physical plays right into our ball park, also another reason why I said it was a better match up is because, Sayin doesn’t scramble like Reed, and Texas A&M oline is supposedly better than OSU. I think it will be harder to move the ball on OSU’s defense, and I do think Beck will have play one of his best games for us to win, OSU will force us to take shots downfield with Caleb Williams back there, if we can hit a couple that would be huge.

They are more of a bullrush defensive front. I think our pass pro will be solid. If it holds up, Beck should have throwing lanes. Marion, our tight ends, and Fletcher have to help move the chains. Beck has to take what they give him.
 
I think a lot of you hit it on the head. Dawson cannot fallback on his tunnel screens to Baby Jesus on 3rd down. Along with being able to pound the rock, PA passes and vertical route concepts out of run sets is 🔑. CJ, Marion, JoJo, Bauman, Lofton… we need it.

Whether we see the version of Beck we need or not, Dawson has to call a balance game. He needs to put Beck in positions to move the sticks consistently and not play hero ball.

Dawson knows this is his moment and I expect a great game. I believe Heatherman learned from Louisville and Bell killing us. This defense will be ready to hit for 60 minutes and our corners know **** well what a good game against Tate and JJ does for their ACH deposits next year. Big 💰 on the table for Canes coaches and players… WE ROLL.

As long as Beck can find his outlets and not fet happy feet we should be fine. Honestly the biggest question for me, will be if Dawson can recognize where we're having success and adjust to take advantage of it.

I actually think we'll be able to move the ball better against this defense.
