Your argument makes sense. My counter is that until a final decision is made Manny is doing his best to keep his job, and on the off chance he is retained he expects next year will be make or break, as you noted. Funny because we are both looking at some of the same facts (recruiting) and reaching different conclusions.
And assuming there is a drop in the severance on a specific date (don’t know for sure), I would argue that has delayed a final decision.
We will see.
Just something else I see that tells me he's staying is the fact nobody behind the scenes can get their **** together. Some want him to stay some want him to go. This is basically what happens in politics and ends in some sort of 50-50 deal where both sides get something they want so they can go back to their base and say we tried for it all but we got something instead of nothing. One side keeps Manny another year the other side gets to pick the AD they want and put some sort of control and monitoring of the football program

If Manny stays that tells me the old man has the goods on all these MFers and is threatening them with whatever he knows..there’s no other viable reason than this…
My daughter went to LSU and she’s been trying to turn me for years.I actually turned one of her daughters into a Cane fan…Guess I’ll turn her back into a Tiger fan and join her myself.
If this is true I’m done.

this is flawed logic....because if you want him recruiting you need to say he isn't get fired. the way they have left things nobody would believe he is staying.

Feel free to read my post history. I feel like I have been very consistent on this issue.
But is he such a control freak that he’s willing to attach his name to a second rate coach? I believe you about Epstein but some of his actions seem not to make sense.
I almost wish there was a kickback or something else involved. At least then I could understand the reasoning.

Why maintain our composure when we can find something to be angry about? After all, its been a few weeks since UM lost to FSU so we have lacked a reason for outrage. Unless you count recruiting.
We need our reasons for outrage. Without them we are just content people, and no one on CIS enjoys contentment.
I'm certainly not happy that Epstein is doing everything he can to make my alma mater look stupid just to feed his ego.

As I said on the podcast in September, I still think this all ends up with Mario Cristobal as our head coach.

Could be wrong, but that’s my educated guess.
In 2022 or 3 years down the road when the buyout from his new extension goes down?
