On Myson Johnson-Cook

The people that let Dennis Smith's tweets bother them are funny to me. Who cares? Touch grass.

Golesh will try to create holes through space and pace, he doesnt need 5 star OL.

Also remember these big money recruitments have clown agents involved, and they are squeezing for every cent so they make more money.
People care because he is the front of the house representation of our beloved program.

No reason to post these guys, everything is daily clickbait BS..
Wiltfong damaged his credibility when he moved to On3. When I watch his videos he seems a little uncomfortable with their approach but I’m sure the increase in pay was worth it.

My thing is if TAMU puts another million or two on the table for matthews then what? At that point we should’ve taken double Olu and MJC rather than overpay to match for matthews. Or Joshua Sam Epelle for even cheaper.

Mark matthews is very good but he isn’t a cantwell level prospect imo. We say we’re stockpiling for the trenches, then the expectation shouldn’t just be on Matthews but rather on landing 2 of the 3 or 3 of the 3 from Jaiden Bryant, DJ Jacobs, and David Foloshorun as well.

We need DLine monsters way more than Oline monsters
If Tam pays Mathews 2 to 3 M more than we are,Mario should be the first to call Mathews and congratulate him on winning the lottery. Then go take what ever we had set aside for Mathews and spend it on the next OT on our board.

Also this reads as many had discussed after he visited Auburn. They outbid Miami and in the end Miami decided to allocate funds differently. You can’t overpay for RB. It just isn’t a smart business model, see the nfl.

This also implies Miami plans to keep landing elite OL so hopefully that means Matthews. I’m fine with the decision to not match money on a RB.
QB, OT, DT, WR and CB. You don’t overpay for a RB.

This RB is not a generational player like AP. Most likely anyway. Crazy athletic but he's only #4 for a reason. Context is important. Pringle was #4 on one site and #8 in another BTW. Lyle was #1. We can find a RB petty easily from South Florida or Florida.

Keep stacking chips and onto the next target 🎯

Miami is obviously heartbroken. Myson Johnson-Cook has rare physical tools and they spent a lot of time recruiting him.

But this ultimately came down to GM Dennis Smith making tough roster construction decisions.

I agree with the approach. If we stay stocked with the Jackson Cantwells of the world, we will run the ball.

Two names to watch at running back are Ty Keys (Picayune, Mississippi) and Brennan Lacey (Dallas, TX).
Agreed but I do have trepidations about the Dennis Smith part. I was hoping given things said in the past that his influence and roll had been diminished.
It doesn’t really matter what has been said about him if he has been an integral part of why and how we made the championship then he is doing his job just fine. I don’t know what’s true and what’s not about him IJS.

Why not AJ Tillman who is a South Florida kid and actually visited Umiami (aka showing interest) compared to Brennen Lacey who visited ND and flaked on Miami?

He’s faster and Lacey doesn’t have good production

Lacey looks a little bigger and just like a better, more powerful, natural RB back on tape. JMO

Tillman is a nice RB but I actually like his DB tape better.

But this ultimately came down to GM Dennis Smith making tough roster construction decisions.

Not even talking about giving this particular situation, but how in the **** does this man have all this power?

Disappointing but already over it.

Choosing Auburn shows he was only about the short term money. Yes, it's a lot of money, life changing if managed properly, but may be lucky to sniff the CFP at Auburn unless the CFP expands.

Hope we start overpaying for dts then
We haven’t landed anyone yet
Agree we signed 5 likely DTs last class in Stancil,Nagle,Bacon,Cuckwurah and Santeius. Also return Carter,Davis and Newton, even if Scott leaves early we return 8 DTs, we are deep. The 2 DTs in this class need to be impact guys to raise the talent level in the room.

Weak. Lets spend what Auburn is spending on Myson on DGG, add a couple hundred racks and steal him from Ohio State. We should be able to land a Haitian.
