On CharMar "Marty" Brown...

At some point players who have little experience need to contribute. It’s impossible to fill every roster spot with an experienced transfer and if you do, why bother recruiting high school players? It’s crazy how fans do backflips for players when they’re high school recruits but once they’re on campus, we can’t rely on them to produce. It’s time for these recruits to start producing.

Amazing pick up, considering the offense will look different than last year with more emphasis on running.

We are one step closer to ground and pound UGA ball.

(And unlike most people around here , I say that as a compliment and with the utmost excitement.)
There were times last year I wish we put the game away on the ground, partly due to our defense. I understand when you have can ward why you wouldn’t do it.

I know Mario gets clowned for being a caveman but I do love the physicality of football and it’s a thing of beauty just running down another team when they can’t stop the body blows.

It also sets Beck up for success more than anything we can do.
Run the ball, run the ball, run the ball.
Get the ball to Lofton and whoever is hot at WR.
Then Run the ball again.
No defense in the ACC is going to be able to stop us other than maybe Clemson.

I really dont get y this board Dislikes Fletcher so much..'hes a very solid/good college RB yall would be on here crying like yall did for Brashard Smith if he was on another team doing his thing smh
He’s gotta clean up those fumbles and hopefully improve his vision.

GT wishes they played us this year.

No state income tax for the win

You guys get a little ridiculous tbh

Martinez was far and away our best back last year and both Fletcher and Lyle were here

The room in 2023 was pretty good. Parrish was a criminally underrated back here who was better in 2023 than Fletcher

I’m not “down” on Fletcher and Lyle though it’s always gotta be these extremes on this board

Poor choice of words on my part related to your specific comment. I have just seen a fair amount of CIS criticism of the RB room, particularly Fletcher, and your post triggered that incorrectly. ...

Here's my take:
* I think Fletcher this season will give us what Martinez gave us last season. He's bigger, stronger, healthier and faster than prior seasons
* I think Lyle's all-purpose skills could give us a more complete tandem in Fletcher/Lyle than we had with Martinez/Fletcher
* I was never a Parrish fan, so take this how you will, but I think Brown is as good as Parrish, possibly more reliable in short yardage situations.
* I do think Ajay Allen was more dynamic, but we rarely used him, so I doubt we'll see any drop off in actual production and game impact
* Meanwhile, I think Lofton with another year under his belt will be a major upgrade as a true HB in situational rushing/passing game. TBH, Arroyo never looked fully comfortable in that role outside of blocking. I think Lofton gets genuine touches.

Overall, I really like this position group. I believe it's playoff caliber. CIS would have been on full meltdown if Fletcher and Lyle were at Taint right now versus here.
