On AJ Haulcy…

If people want to have questions on the interior of the DL i won’t argue with them. There’s not much there that I know 100.0% I can count on. But to your point, when you recruit a kid like Justin Scott, that kid has to play at least somewhat close to his ranking or you’re in trouble.

We’ll miss Barrow, he was a good player and I thought when he was off the field, the drop was noticeable.

But DT didn’t kill us last year. It was about 99% the lack of communication on the back end and the inability to cover ANYONE. I’d have liked a better pass rush, but the ball was out so quick on the majority of snaps that it didn’t matter. The opponent’s first read was open almost every play, it’s an easy game for the QB when you know that.
Bingo, I expect our line play to look much better this year as a byproduct of our secondary actually having a pulse this year

Kid str8 up played us like desperate side chick smh dude was never committing here just enjoying his time on our dollar knowing he was going to LSU the whole time..****
Yep.

But other than time, he didn’t take anything from us. No money and no spot from another recruit. Still sucks that we wasted the time but live and learn.

Didn’t seem like much of a factor with the other kids we picked up. Beck came here after playing in the big bad SEC. How is it determined that the conference is a factor when picking schools?
For some kids, they don't care about the conference. For some kids, they won't even consider you if you're not in the SEC, especially southern kids. The ESPN Media Machine has brainwashed kids for over a decade now into thinking the SEC is the only place that plays big boy football. It's not going to matter all the time but there's more than a few times it will. As we get closer to the P2 becoming a reality, it's only going to matter more and more.

Go back and re-read that last sentence again. And then think about it.

This is a personal decision that will vary for each player. HAULCY wants to play in the SEC. Who gives a **** if the SEC is not "much of a factor with the other kids we picked up".

I also mentioned that the kid grew up in Texas, and played in New Mexico and Houston. If we can't acknowledge that he has a "geographic region preference", then we will become disproportionately unrealistic and bitter.

And let's not forget, LSU has a pretty good DB coach as well.

I tried to warn people. But a lot of Miami fans put all their eggs in the "but Etheridge coached him" basket. Sorry for the disappointment.
