2023 Official Visit Weekend #3: June 17-19

Post visit notes from Howland (per Matt Shodell):

- Howland was the only OLine guy this week. He spent alot of time with Mirabal and Mario - oach Pata escorted him everywhere.

- “My favorite part of the visit was being able to spend a bunch of time with the coaches and players." “The players were great to spend time with – they’re really great guys.”

- Howland takes his OV to Iowa next week and plans on making a decision in early July. He previously visited Oklahoma and Michigan earlier in June.

It was thought that Michigan was the perceived leader coming into the visit.

- Visit helped Miami alot with him. “Miami’s a top school,” Reed said. “One of the top for me.”

- His player host was Thomas Davis.

-“For me a highlight was just talking with the coaches, mainly with coach (Joe) Salave’a,” Reed said. “He’s a great coach. The coaches were just telling me how the 2023 class is the foundation for what’s coming.”

- Mario's message to him: “that I’m a key player and key asset for them. He’s a great guy.”

He says he spent the most time with Jaden Wayne. “He’s a pretty cool guy and he liked it a lot,” Reed said.

- Reed as visits coming up this week to Auburn (midweek) and then an OSU OV next weekend.

Haven't seen any tape but OL with Iowa and Mich in top 5 is a good sign.

From Rivals on Wayne:

-
Wayne says it was picture-perfect, and he came down with his parents, brother and sister.

“I loved it,” said Wayne, who also visited UM unofficially earlier in the year. “It was fun. My family loved it and I loved it.”

Thomas Davis was his host, too. His favorite activity was going Jet skiing..

-Says he got a great sense of what the program is all about, and that he spent a lot of time with coaches Mario Cristobal, Joe Salave’a and Rod Wright (and also FaceTimed with Jason Taylor).

-“I loved the vibe of all the coaches,” he said. “Me, coach (Mario) Cristobal and coach Joe (Salave’a) have a great relationships from way back. They all want to win a national title.”
“They really love my family,” he said. “They want develop me to be the best. They want me to come contribute right way and they care about me more than just football.

He is targeting a decision before his season - has already taken OVs to UGA and LSU. Will OV at Oregon next weekend. Bama and Mich State also involved. Will be interesting to see if he decides to take the last official in season and wait...
