I've noticed with the Alex Collins threads that some posters are tired of hearing how these recruiting misses are doing. Other posters (myself included) are interested in following the kids that we analyzed and argued about for so many months. This thread is for the latter group.

Please post all updates on Alex Collins, Denver Kirkland, Matthew Thomas, Skai Moore and anyone else of note who didn't sign with Miami in this thread. Mods, please merge those threads into this one.

Denver Kirkland will be starting this week at guard for UF. He had previously filled in for the injured RT and held up well. When the RT came back, Bielema wanted to keep Kirkland in the lineup, so he unseated an upperclassman guard and moved Kirkland inside. The coaches are very high on his pass-blocking ability and effort level.

On a side note, Kenbrell Thompkins had a brother who was a Greentree AA for us, I now consider him one that got away

3. Alex Collins, Arkansas, RB: The South Florida native whose soap opera signing day story made headlines last winter has been already proved to be well worth that drama. Collins became the first true freshman in NCAA history to roll off three consecutive 100-yard performances to start his career since the great Adrian Peterson had nine in a row to kick off his OU career. Collins is No. 6 in the country in rushing with 597 yards and also is averaging six yards per carry.

finally. we dont need 50 threads of duval saying duke sucks every time collins is mentioned. also, w kirkland not really a recruiting miss. he committed to both FSU and Miami and both dropped him when he wouldnt give em a final answer (from what i read about the story).

Kirkland was just drama queen, not a miss. Thomas should count as USC miss becasue that was where he wnat to go. Collins I count as miss, but really it looks like we had no shot. I wouldn't trade Fig for Thomas, so no big loss. Kirklan would be redshirt here, so no bigger. Collis is a miss and it would be real nice to have that big mother running here. However, he would not get the carries he is getting with the pigs. We have this dude call Duke and he be the star. Collins is a bigger deal where he went -- they have nobody else. But of the group, he is the one I would want on team -- plus his mom is just a trip.

Collins hurts bad. dude is obviously AT LEAST the 2nd best back on our team right now and would be getting a lot of PT. I wonder if he realizes that. dude was sold a bunch of BS by his HC and Butthead

Thomas hurts also. dont give a **** about the other guys. Kirkland can choke on a bag of *****

I'm not gonna be a **** and hope that they all have career ending injuries and tragic ends to their lives but I will hope that they regret the day they rejected us

If we were struggling and missing on the recruiting trail, I suppose I could understand some sour grapes. If guys didn't want to be a part of it, then oh well.

I think it's interesting to see how some guys turn out.

Best defensive player to come out of South Florida in awhile according to some, so it was big lost. Figs committed to Miami months before Thomas committed to FSU so I don't what one has to do with the other.

If Brad Kaaya ends up at UCLA, I'll wish him well. He's a great kid & I understand at the end of the day he had to do what is best for him. Same for guys like Skye Moore (who we slow played) or even Jaynard Bostick (we just got beat). All classy kids who never disrespected us. When a kid like Sticks McCartney pulls the kind of stunt he did, then he can go kick rocks.
