Butch WAS great. He's old and burned his bridge here. Y'all cannot get that through your heads.
Pipe dream as is Franklin ,Strong and **** near every name mentioned last 2 days

I'm kind of tired of hearing about how Butch "burned bridges" here. Kehoe sued the university, which is burning the bridge, blowing it up, and then ****ing on the ashes. He was welcomed back with open arms. Butch would be a hire that would give us instant credibility with recruits based on his track record alone. Bring on the Butch!!

Agree on the bridges issue. That's not the reason he wouldn't be hired. Plain and simple it's what happened at unc. Begins and ends there.

With all the talk of Davis burning bridges with UM, it seems that that could not have been the case between Shalala and Davis. She did not start working at the U until after Davis left. Now the question is would Shalala even consider him now that we are on probation. But **** the guy led us out of probation last time. He knows how to handle the situation.

I'm not so sure about this either. Butch was cleared of any wrong doing and with a strong Compliance Services Office, I think the program would be above board.

He had nothing to do with what went on at unc. He proved it ... Unc tried to use him as a scapegoat....

I have spoken to Butch personally before all of this. The guy is dying to come back to Miami.

He's a different guy now. He's older, a cancer survivor, and has a different perspective on life as all of us do as we get older at any stage of life.

I don't know what he currently capable of. What I do know is that he's the best evaluator of talent I have ever seen, has plenty of coaching connections, and would take this job the microsecond it was offered.

As to how he left, there are two sides to every story. I think most only saw or heard one side. There's another. Regardless, the truth is probably somewhere in the middle and water under the bridge from my vantage point.

I would interview Chud, Butch, Petrino, and Schiano. Pick one and move on.

If, and I think he's gone, but IF Golden stayed, there would be banners flown saying "Fire Golden" on opening day.

How is he different? No longer a lying weasel, or no longer having panic attacks when faced with difficult in-game coaching decisions? Or both?

How about Schiano with Butch as an assistant head coach/overseerer type role.

Schiano is young and hungry and can handle the brunt of the workload and Butch can contribute what he is capable of doing?

They must be close as Butch started Schiano's career here.

There's so many coaches out there that have proven they can get it done at the college level that i think would be upgrades so I want him to just leave at this point.

Would also love to watch Dorito's D play at penn state and root for them to get lit up every week.

Butch, Petrino, Schiano, Chud, Franklin

All can probably be had easily except for maybe Franklin.

You've got to take risks in life to succeed. Our last three hires were playing it safe. Time to roll the dice a bit on butch or the garden.
