Butch WAS great. He's old and burned his bridge here. Y'all cannot get that through your heads.
Pipe dream as is Franklin ,Strong and **** near every name mentioned last 2 days
I'm kind of tired of hearing about how Butch "burned bridges" here. Kehoe sued the university, which is burning the bridge, blowing it up, and then ****ing on the ashes. He was welcomed back with open arms. Butch would be a hire that would give us instant credibility with recruits based on his track record alone. Bring on the Butch!!

Agree on the bridges issue. That's not the reason he wouldn't be hired. Plain and simple it's what happened at unc. Begins and ends there.
Butch is 62. Forget him. He had his chance and HE will always have to live with his decision just like
Howard.
Franklin already getting NFL interest. Forget him

I have spoken to Butch personally before all of this. The guy is dying to come back to Miami.
He's a different guy now. He's older, a cancer survivor, and has a different perspective on life as all of us do as we get older at any stage of life.
I don't know what he currently capable of. What I do know is that he's the best evaluator of talent I have ever seen, has plenty of coaching connections, and would take this job the microsecond it was offered.
As to how he left, there are two sides to every story. I think most only saw or heard one side. There's another. Regardless, the truth is probably somewhere in the middle and water under the bridge from my vantage point.
I would interview Chud, Butch, Petrino, and Schiano. Pick one and move on.
people forget, we all were tough on butch but if they was no butch, there might not be a um football program.
between nfl and unc, butch wants to preserve his legacy. um gives him that chance.
