people forget, we all were tough on butch but if they was no butch, there might not be a um football program.

The risk he is taking, and him being a smart dude I am thinking this crossed his mind, if he left Miami before winning anything meaningful (basically not finishing the job he promised to do) followed by a mediocre job at PSU then his head coaching career is over.

We were...and I remember being dumbfounded by some of his game time decisions...but Golden was the game time **** up butch was x 20.

I'm kind of tired of hearing about how Butch "burned bridges" here. Kehoe sued the university, which is burning the bridge, blowing it up, and then ****ing on the ashes. He was welcomed back with open arms. Butch would be a hire that would give us instant credibility with recruits based on his track record alone. Bring on the Butch!!
 
Good thing for miami is that most of the south florida kids are cane fans and want to be canes regardless to who the coach is so i don't think golden would have much luck with getting guys to follow him to psu
 
**** this....I'm going to watch our basketball team get curbstomped by Syracuse. Maybe Coach L can coach the football team too.

Constant flip flopping. Said Golden was offered, then said he wasn't. Said Golden was gone, then said Miami is confident he stays. It's a circus over there. If Golden does leave just wait until you see Ferman at work on the coaching search. The LULz will be glorious.

Former UM coach Butch Davis, who on Friday was not retained by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as a special advisor to recently fired head coach Greg Schiano, told the Post he’d welcome the opportunity to interview with Miami should Golden leave. Davis, 62, was UM’s coach from 1995-2000 and previously was a UM assistant under Jimmy Johnson from 1984-88.

Butch is also less likely to bolt to the NFL than these other options. He would want to end his career here I believe
