My concern with Butch is I'm not sure we're getting the same Butch we got in his early to mid 40's.He was young, hungry to make a name for himself and eventually be an NFL head coach.He was a tireless recruiter.Now in his 60s with much more money than he had back then who exactly are we getting.He wasn't willing to be patient at UNC and wanted to shorten the climb and got caught.A Strong or Stoops from UK would be homeruns if we could get either.Both great recruiters and will have our defense in the top 5-10 in no time..

Butch's genius wasn't his recruiting; it was his evaluation and development. Those same evaluation and development skills carried over to UNC where he loaded that roster with NFL draft picks without having the benefit of recruiting in S. FL. I don't think those evaluation skills would diminish at all at age 62.

As for this Stoops crap, I just don't see it. I don't know what that guy's done to make anyone excited about him.

Penn State wants Al Golden to be next coach. Al Golden wants to return to Penn State. Penn State hoped to have their coach within days.....

He's already done plenty of damage by actively pursuing that job. Even if PUS picks someone else, it would be like if your wife tried really hard right in front of you to get with some other dude, but the only reason it didn't happen was because he wasn't interested in her.

Nailed it. He wants to leave or he wouldn't be interviewing, I'm officially off the golden wagon.
 
you can see after that reporter hit him with the hard question after louisville, it looked like he gave up.

Only the biggest academic scandal in NCAA history - that is why Butch won't be hired here. I have nothing aganist his coaching or recruiting, but the last thing this program needs is more NCAA investigations.
