Troll job by SpoonerWhy does it say on Rivals that Golden signed a five year deal with PSU?
Says, "Golden accepts Penn State Position . . . Miami Coach signs five year deal."
Former UM coach Butch Davis, who on Friday was not retained by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as a special advisor to recently fired head coach Greg Schiano, told the Post he’d welcome the opportunity to interview with Miami should Golden leave. Davis, 62, was UM’s coach from 1995-2000 and previously was a UM assistant under Jimmy Johnson from 1984-88.

I think I just got a woody.
P.S. Bakas saying Golden delay is a contractual debate but if Tx hires Strong (decision between him and Franklin expected within 24 hrs) he expects PSU to make Franklin top priority interview on Sunday

Butch has unfinished business with Miami. Fvch it, hire Butch even if you have to fire Golden (if he doesn't get the Penn State job).

If Butch was hot stuff, how come he doesn't have a job anywhere? Do you really think some SEC school wouldn't have grabbed him for recruiting purposes if he really was all that? **** even Radio has an actual job, not some made-up "special assistant" job.

If I recall, Butch has a contractual payout stipulation with UNC, stating something like he can't take a coaching job and keep getting paid by UNC.

He already said he would be interested in the position if asked. All this talk about money with UNC is irrelevant.

Losing AG this way, less than a month from signing our best class in ages, less than a week from bowl raping, to a school still under sanctions, will cripple whatever building blocks have been laid over the past three years.
I know the cool thing on here is to say there's been none laid, and F golden, F insertcoachhere, but the fact is he bolts and we spiral down to even lower depths.
He stays and does nothing about the d situation, then you can bet your ******* either he or Dno are fired next year after a repeat performance of the defensive **** show. If that happens then either we get a new DC and things look up, or we lose golden on our terms and aren't left holding the bag. Either way, the best scenario is AG sticking with us.
Listen, I want Golden gone. I think we can do better. Or at least I'd like to take the chance and gamble on the prospect of doing better. With that said, I appreciate what AG did here navigating this program through the Nevin Shapiro train wreck and stockpiling some pretty good talent at certain positions.
But this is what I see moving forward. I see a team in 2014 that is breaking in a QB with another unheralded QB. I see a team in 2015 that will again be breaking in a new QB. I see a defense that was horrific in 2012 and 2013 and is going into 2014 devoid of talent at DT. And I see a head coach who is thick as thieves with his completely inept defensive coordinator.
What's the goal? For me, it's winning the whole **** thing. It will always be that way for me. Maybe I have my head in the sand, but so be it. The way this roster is set up, I think were at least 2 years away and realistically probably 3 years away to competing at that level. Therefore, I think now is the time to gamble on a new head coach. When this roster is ready to compete for big things, I want a better coach running the ship. Just my .02.
In my opinion...
The honeymoon with Golden was over here. He got us through the sanction period, and once we were free and clear, the BOT/Shalala, knew changes to the coaching staff (D'Nof) were to be made. Pressure was put on Golden not only to get rid of his Best Friend, but he was also under fire after the embarrassment of the last few losses, most notably, Duke and Louisville.
As much as I love Golden as a figurehead of our program, his schematic philosophy and unwillingness to adjust to the style of play that is congruent with So.Fla recruits leaves alot to be desired.
It seems to me Golden figured he could use our fertile recruiting base, and insert it into his NE philosophy, which would create the ultimate mix of scheme and personnel. Unfortunately, you can't take a convict and drop him in the suburbs and expect him to assimilate...
Once a goon, always a goon, and dem Dade County Boys be goons.

I want golden to stay because I'm not irrational like the rest of the board.
However I would only be pleased with the butch hire (although that won't happen imo)
I swear to god if Golden somehow didn't get/turned down the PSU job and we lose even 1 recruit in this cycle of this charade, I'll walk to Coral Gables and punch that fat **** in the nuts myself.
My my, someone's tone towards Golden has changed.
It's amazing isn't it.Remember this dude battling everyone here on Golden's behalf just days back and now he's willing to physsically hurt him.
