Absolutely! I'm sure the higher ups at Penn St are reading the Miami boards to help them decide on their next hire!

Best hopes for a guy with ties to the program are Curtis Johnson and Mario Cristobal. Chud is obviously at the top of the list, but I dont see it.

I can assure you that if BFA leaves, then Butch will be the absolute #1 guy that former players start campaigning for. Former players will be begging for him to be hired.

Personally, I'd hire Petrino. But, at this point, I'm open to Butch given how bad I think BFA is.

Valid points. The only thing that concerns me about Petrino is that his Defense's aren't usually strong. I'm a firm believer Defense wins championships. That being said, I wouldn't hate the hire.
 
I personally want Chud. I could see him bringing in Scott Turner as OC and Mike Sullivan as OL coach. Both guys that were on his staff this year.

Petrino is amazing, turns chicken **** to chicken salad wherever he goes.

I fear the last thing they want is someone who comes off as shady even though he was never in NCAA trouble.

He's not shady. He's an *******. He cheated on his wife, and she forgave him. If the woman he cheated on can forgive him, then I don't see why we can't. WKU had no problem forgiving him.

Most great football coaches have some shythead in them, and Petrino's no different. My text to Blake James will include an endorsement for Petrino. I will urge other boosters to do the same.
 
You cannot hire a college coordinator here. You cannot hire a guy who only beats bad teams and gets blown out by ranked ones. Football acumen/pedigree, recruiting ability, and proven management skills should all be required.

Anything else is BEGGING for failure. I'm not saying a coordinator would never work; but it's so significantly riskier.

If golden doesn't leave, you can't fire him, bc we'd owe him a ton of money.

I wonder if the holdup is the buyout money.

he's never had access to talent on defense though.
 
Here is my thoughts (not that it matters for ****).

1. I would like to have Golden stay and get a new D. Hold the class together and see what he could do with real talent. He really couldn't pull in the kids we needed with the 11 and 12 classes we wanted due to the restrictions and such. Give him 2 years to see if it works out - Dorito fired though.

2. Golden leaves, leaves these 3 options:

Petrino - My first choice
Butch - My second choice
Chud - My third choice

3. The only one that probably passes the Donna test is Chud.

4. Strong is getting 3.7million from louisville. We pay Al 2.2 to 2.3 Mil (which is in the lower realm of ACC coaches). Strong isn't going anywhere without a raise, and that means 4 mil per year. We ain't paying that much, and sure as **** can get the 3 above much cheaper.

Just my 2 cents.

Butch will not be hired. He left unc in shame due to that scandal. We are on probation. No chance of it happening guys so stop mentioning his name.
 
if golden leaves and you want Butch. email shalala. just do it professionally. she personally responded to me the only two times i emailed. once her secretary replied first that she probably wouldnt have time but she did. u guys forget about how quick she was to grab the trophy from coker and hoist it up. The shannon thing made sense at the time. Hocutt hired golden knowing he was gonna ***** him but probably figured, "hey, he is coming from the ghettos of temple"
 
Golden is not canning Doritos though. Golden is a defensive coach. Dorito's is running golden's D.

Even if he got canned we would just get another guy running goldens type of scheme.

Exactly, and that is why we are very likely to end up with someone like Cristobal. Mark it down. All these cats dreaming about Petrino and Butch are going to be ready to hang themselves when they see who we end up with. The meltdown here is going to be hilariously epic.
