I have only two takeaways from the game.

1. When Duke and Yearby are healthy, this offense should be able to run the ball extremely well. Both Gus and Tucker looked very good today.

2. Lot of work at QB. I expect Kaaya to have a chance to win the job off of today's performance. Good news for whoever is the QB, lots of weapons at RB, WR, and TE. We need the QB to manage the game, not win it.

Jerseys are nice!

Great news about 2 stud commits!

Great news about hunter Knighton!

The stretch play and QB roll out to the left should be eliminated.

OC coley belongs coaching D2..

How the **** do we not a competent QB on the roster?!?!

DL still needs massive work.

1. Defense much improved. Playing faster , really impressed by the LB group.

2. Offense skill players is the best in the last 12 yrs.

3. QB is a huge question mark. The good news is that Olsen and group have 5 months to get better.

By far this is Golden's best team.

Impressed with Tucker, announcer had it right - accelerates after the hit. Believe he will have a big impact. Gus better but still needs to keep going forward. Olsen, well not as good as I hoped but now he has seen how fast the game is and he's going to have to continue to adjust - did like his mobility - he can move. Think Olson will get better, Crow...not so much but an adequate back-up perhaps. Kaaya might very well compete with Olsen. D looked better but was O really a challenge? Depth was apparent, we are a lot deeper and the talent drop off is a lot less.

Wish...we were starting with a cream-puff this year.

Wish....we had a kicker, Goldie needs to find a grad student somewhere.

Remember - we have more guys coming in the fall - so that depth gets deeper.

Mid-season I see us getting better not worse.

Add to that, agree with many that the running game will save the day...and will make the passing game easier.

really awful that they are making us start labor day night on the road with these inexperienced QB's.

All in all the game showed we'll be a lot better defense. Didn't see any of that jumping around before the snap. DL more stout at the point of attack. Better pressure from DL and DE's. Blitz timing better. LB'ers playing their responsibilities, covering backs out of the backfield better. Picking up receivers on crossing routes. reading plays and reacting faster. Safety play very impressive and physical. CB's coverage seemed very solid, tackled a lot better too.

Offensively the OL seemed better at run blocking, lower pad levels and pass protection, quicker feet. RB's will be the strength of the team, Gus ran with batter pad level, cut and went. Walter Tucker is a huge surprise, speed, power and toughness. Combined with The Duke and their is no better threesome. Was never concerned about WR'ers, but the problem will be Olsen's ability to make the right reads. He's deciding at snap who he's going to. Lacks touch and command of the offense. Doesn't remain calm in the face of pressure. We gotta get him to know his second option at a minimum. From what I saw I can assure you this staff will be working hard to get Kayaa and Rosier ready. Olsen from my opinion with a year under his belt was disappointing and I very lenient on HS QB's. He wasted last year and it shows.
