Refresh my memory please?
I watched his introductory press conference. I was also curious to see how he "trashed" Miami. Well, he didn't really say anything bad about us at all, but he did mention us once.

Around the 24:30 mark, a reporter asks his fondest memory when he was at VT before as a GA. He said in 1995 they started 0-2. Said the "vaunted Miami Hurricanes" came to town week 3 and they proceeded to whip us (which they did, he's not lying). Said that game turned the season around and they won all the remaining games including the Sugar Bowl. That was all he said. Said that Miami game and the night out on Bourbon St. after the Sugar Bowl with his buddies were his fondest memories.

I don't like Brent Pry and I guess one could interpret that he took a swipe at us, but he didn't say anything negative about Miami's programs, the city, or the fans.

I could give 2 craps about UCLA, but if I were hiring for VT, I think I'd look at Golesh and probably Dawson if he's ready to become a HC next season.

Beamer's done a solid job overall with the Gamecocks, but man he's had his share of stinkers — last night's 31-7 loss to Vandy for one (and, yes, LaNorris Sellers went down late in the first half, but getting blown out at home by the Dores is just plain bad).

The interesting thing TBD is whether or not South Carolina with its significantly deeper SEC pockets will prioritize keeping Beamer. Probably depends on the rest of this season goes

Beamer isn’t recruiting well enough via the portal especially to keep South Carolina afloat. South Carolina doesn’t have money like Auburn, UGA, and Texas.

A few years ago the SEC Commissioner met with the folks at Vandy and told them they had to step it up in football. Now they’re a good program. I think the B10 told UCLA the same thing.

UF players have to know Napier is getting fired. Last year it looked that way too but they rallied. At some point though the players are going to start thinking about where they want to play next year and avoiding injury. No one wants to tear a MCL in a 4 win season and a total roster reset on the horizon.

I get it both of these squads have looked awful but man it feels like firings have started earlier than usual this year.
Seems like you have to with the early signing period and the transfer portal opening and closing prior to the Spring term. This puts a lot of pressure on your program to make the right higher and quickly.

You make the wrong hire and do so late in the process, you could lose whatever talent is in the program, and find yourself in a position of missing out on adding a decent class and leveraging the portal.

UCLA and V.Tech can spend the next two months back-channelling to see who is interested and what is available with the hope of making a hire after Thanksgiving.
