I saw an article that said the AD at Va Tech isn't making the new football coach hire. There is a new committee formed who will be conducting the search. Looks like Babcock is having his responsibilities reduced....
 
I’m expecting another “who is this guy?” Hires unless they hire an alum/nfl guy that has no experience. They are writing checks to stay in the game.
 
VT hire Vick for the low for a few years and build back the recruiting connections with the local high school and families in the community then hire a big shot once he does that to really take the program over the top

Their recruiting under Pry wasn’t bad.

They are clamoring for Beamer, but the reality is they don't have the $$$$ to compete to hire a big shot and give him the resources to compete for ACC titles every year. They may get a squad to compete every 3-4 years now but they've struggled to keep the top players in the state for 2 decades now and Beamer or Vick can't fix the limited NIL

I wouldn’t bring Beamer he also sucks. And you’d have to overpay to pry him from the SEC.
 
Why would VT fire their coach?

They have no NIL. You can't really have expectations when any semblance of talent is going to transfer after 1 year.

I actually don’t think he leaves USC east. I really don’t, he’s got a better opportunity there.

They are the 4th best football program in the state VA coming off a belt to *** beating by my ODU monarchs where they were booing the team in the 1st quarter.

Exactly.

I don’t know why they’re making such a big deal out of it to the point of firing their head coach. They should just get used to it and carry on.

Yeah, after discussing it in this thread, I think y’all could be right about him staying. Someone above told me he turned down an offer from VT before to stay at SC a couple years back already.
