Offensive line size

Aside from the dysfunctional system, the biggest problem on offense was a lack of bodies up front. There were so many injuries that twelve (12) OL saw meaningful snaps. Of those twelve, seven of them were 6'3 or under.

2022

Jakai Clark (6'3, 305)
Justice Oluwaseun (6'3, 325)
Delone Scaife (6'3, 314)
Jonathan Denis (6'3, 320)
Laurence Seymore (6'2, 315)
Ousman Traore (6'3, 310)
Logan Sagapolu (6'2, 340)

John Campbell (6'5, 320)
Jalen Rivers (6'5, 325)
Zion Nelson (6'5, 316)
Anez Cooper (6'6, 350)
Michael McClaughlin (6'7, 300)

In 2023, our projected top 12 only includes one player 6'3 or under- the 320-pound backup center, Jonathan Denis.

Zion Nelson (6'5, 316)
Javion Cohen (6'4, 305)
Anez Cooper (6'6, 350)
Jalen Rivers (6'5, 325)
Matt Lee (6'4, 295)
Francis Mauigoia (6'5.5, 330)
Samson Okunlola (6'5, 330)
Jonathan Denis (6'3, 320)
Matthew McCoy (6'6, 290)
Michael McClaughlin (6'7, 300)
Tommy Kinsler (6'6, 330)
Frankie Tinilau (6'5, 315)

The infusion of talent from this recruiting class and the Portal has dramatically changed our front. That may be the biggest difference between 2022 and 2023.
Size that can actually play cause there some big dudes that be trash asf

First guys off bench Samson, Anez

Swap Anez and rivers to start the season if rivers isn’t fully back from injury and yeah that’s right.

That’s always hoping zion plays. Hard to pencil that kid into any lineups at the moment

Rivers was in that workout picture posted a couple days ago. Didn't have a brace on, Zion should be the only one in ? For the start of the season.

I mean yea but Zion never missed games before this past season, just hope he's 100 recovered for next season tho

There's a huge difference between 6'2" 245 (me) and 6'2" 245 (Ray Lewis). Body composition matters.

Our S&C has never really recovered since Coker let guys get fat and played them. Shannon never had a program, Golden and Richt's program dirty bulked. I thought Feeley was a good hire, he'd take you as far as you wanted to go. We will see what Cristobal can implement as even big guys like Rivers still look sloppy.

Chance Warmack might have been only 6'2" but he was a gigantic 315 or bigger and would absolutely move guys.

There were still fat slobs all over the place under Feeley. McDonaldson stumbled around at 400 his entire tenure among others. But no telling if that’s on accountability of head coach, culture or S&C.

Is it just height though? I mean the tallest guy last year was the worst at 6'7.

Is there really a big a difference physically between 6'3, 305 and 6'4, 295?

How did Logan drop out of the top 12 for 2023 with guys like Tinilau and McClaughlin ahead of him? They are not playing at Tackle this year or next...

Most Proven guys one your list are 6'4, 305 and 6'4, 295...

IMO, it's the attitude and not just height or size. Hopefully that changes with guys like Cohen, Lee, Mauigoa, and Samson.
He’s doing a lot to fit his narrative. First, out of the 17 guys who are currently with the OL Tinilau is probably 17th likely to see playing time maybe even after some Walk-ones he is so raw.

Tripp, Sagapolu, Seymour-2 of the 3 will likely be depth in the top 12 in the interior.

I think Cohen, Rivers, Mauigoa, Samson, McCoy, and Zion all compete for the OT spots. Once that’s decided the inside gets filled out. I believe Mirabal and Mario are both proponents of cross training the line. Outside of Lee at center I would think the top 8-10 guys are going to compete for spots.

I do think you’ll see Mauigoa start off inside. You might see Rivers and McCoy battle it out for that RT spot. It’s a lot to put on a true freshman to play on the outside. That said I think Francis is more polished at this point than Samson from what I’ve seen on their HS and all star performances.

It’s actually the first time in a long time that we’ve “potentially” had the problem of more talent than spots. That’s a good problem to have.
