Alright it’s a slow time of year so we need some thins we can discuss on the Canes.

Let’s look at the talent we’ve brought in over the last few classes and come up with what formations & personel you want to see most this season.

Shot Gun
WR Richards - JT (slot) - Cager
H-Back Jordan
RB Homer

Running JT on jet sweep to pressure D horizontally.

Would like to see this with JT faking a jet sweep towards Jordan side and then run Homer on a counter with Jordan leading through the hole.

Or using the Jet sweep fake and running a screen to Homer in the opposite direction.

I'm a fan of this one.

Ooo, let's line up in that formation that leads to a 63% completion rate.

I'm just not one of the people who thinks a different formation or play calling are big problems for us right now. We could utilize our personnel more creatively at times and that might lead to more scoring, but I'm more concerned about what the QB and OL being able to execute the plays that are called. I'm more concerned about the whole D overrunning the play and letting some scrub run for 30 yards. I'm more concerned about not being able to score from the 6 yard line.

That said, anything that gets AR/JT alone with some poor, soon to be embarrassed DB is cool with me.

I just want to see us out-scheme someone! I want to have an offense that isn't so predictable. We know we will have oline issues but we have ATHLETES everywhere. I'm praying CMR comes up with creative way to get the ball out of rosier's fast and let our ATHLETES do them!

More dynamic routes and not too much of the line of scrimmage flat routes that Herndon used to run all the **** time.

I’d like to see us utilize a fake bubble screen and throw down the field. We have so much bubbles on tape that defenses will start cheating on it. Especially against an aggressive defense (Cough LSU cough) it could lead to a home run, game changing moment.

Once we run it once or twice, the safety will hold their position and our bubble screens could be more effective.

See example below (or some variation)

I'd like to see more 4 WR sets or TE's flexed out wide to utilize our considerable pass catching depth & keep 8 out of the box for Homer or Lingard to hit a couple long runs.
