I know next to nothing about current pop music but I will say, he's a great actor. Can't wait to see him as Lando in the Han Solo movie.

That dude needs to work on his pectorals.
He has that prototypical millennial pear-shape physique.
Dips, flat and incline bench pressing please.

He’s probably never stepped foot in a gym. He probably just dances in his underwear to stay in shape like a fruit pop

Gambino is a beast. Working in the film industry I look up to this cat. His show "Atlanta" is amazing from writing to acting. His album "Awaken My Love" was one of the best albums of 2016 and he wasn't rapping. I'm not even a Star Wars fan but the new movie looks like its gonna be DOPE!
this.. Atlanta is amazing.. as was awaken my love (his early childish gambino albums were kinda joke-y) dude has gotten serious about music and it is amazing! as is atlanta

Ah yes, one of those "the only good music to ever exist was the music I heard in the good old days and everything today sucks because it's not from the 80's and 90's" shticks. Must be a sad life you lead when you can't enjoy anything that's less than 20 years old.
It's simply called appreciation for quality and meaningful music. No doubt there are artists today who meet that criteria. I enjoy when I find it. However today's music is so shallow it is hard to find the needles in the hay

That's a pretty interesting take considering that his last album won a grammy and that he won an Emmy for directing and acting in his show.

Using award shows, that are just advertisements for large label music industry is a terrible way to gauge an artist. There are plenty of lame artists only teenagers listen to with Grammys, and legends without them.

That's a good old school list. I'd add Bone Thugs 'N Harmony, Tuff Crew, Styles P, AZ, Cypress Hill, Run DMC, and the Beastie Boys to those. I rarely listen to rap less than 15 years old or so. I hear it, but it doesn't resonate. Only new stuff I might play here and there is $uicideboy$ and Ramirez and even then it's just a couple songs mainly because their beats are hot.

Ya bro. I listen to a lot more people from each of those decades I just wanted to name a few. I listen to every one of those dudes you named. Especially SP the Ghost. When him and Jada go back and forth that **** is legendary.

Ah yes a MF that didn't read my other post. I listen to a lot of the new rappers, but not most of the dudes that get radio play. I **** with Tee Grizzley, Bobby Shmurda, Chief Keef, 21 savage, Kodak Black, Meek Mill, Dave East, FBG Duck, Gucci Mane, Lil Boosie, NBA Young Boy, and a lot of others. The drill dudes coming out of chicago are all killing it. All of them would have been respected and hot in the 90s or 80s. If Childish tried coming up in the 80s he would have gotten Ja Ruled by any of the real rappers and would have got 0 respect. The only reason Gambino gets radio time today is because he has a lot of middle schoolers from the suburbs playing his **** and they can then go around saying Im woke I understand the struggle. I never met one dude from my hood that listens to these guys unless they the type of dude that also watches those japanese cartoon shows and listens to rock music.

That was one of the funniest SNL's in a long time.

Disirregardless of what you think of Gambino's rap skills, these are also some indisputable facts:

- Kendrick Lamar is a fraud.

- Drake is softer than a used tampon and largely responsible for the soft shoulders of an entire generation.

- Nas.......overrated. He's gifted "legendary" status just because he's from New York.

I'll hang up and listen. Free Big Meech!

Kendrick is ***.Drake is *****, but Kanye brought in the ***** generation. If Kanye never beat 50 in that album sales beef none of these ***** *** pussies ever would have got put on. Before that if you where not a G you got exposed and your career ended. Nas is a legend tho.

Spot on with the Kanye take. I prefer to not even acknowledge his existence on this planet though.

Smh. I don't even know where to start with all the wrong **** you just said.

"I actually listen to the lyrics" and you list Chief Keef, 21 savage, Gucci, and Meek Mill. Okay Homie. You'll have to excuse me for not taking you seriously when that's your list of people you **** with for lyrics. If you're gonna sit there and just list out drill dudes then I'd at least expect some Fredo, Herb, Louie, or Bibby. Not to mention, Shmurda, Keef, 21, Kodak, Mill, and Gucci have had plenty of radio play, so IDK how much the "I only listen to underground artists" card works either.

You also showing some real ignorance by using listening to rock and watching anime as an insult. Guaranteed most of the OGs respected a lot of Rock, especially dudes like De La Rocha, and people like Hov have done a ton of collabs with the genre. I'd also pay money to see you walk up to Wu-Tang and plenty other dudes you listed and tell them they are pussies for watching anime.

Most of who you list would completely disagree with most of your opinions on modern rap. Guarantee every OG is out here respecting Kendrick. People like Keef or Gucci would be laughed at while dudes like Kendrick, Pusha, Cole, etc. would get respect. Technically skilled dudes like Biggie, Pun, etc. **** sure wouldn't be ******* with dudes like Gucci over tons of other people out right now. Nas, Wu-tang, Hov, whoever is around today sure as **** isn't listing Gucci in their top 5 lmao. And if you don't believe me, you should take a minute and go through your old artists and listen to interviews where they talk about who they **** with nowadays before you start insulting people who listen to the current artists. While you're at it, you should also take a look at who your current artists have been collabing with, sounds like you might need to trim down the list a bit seeing how they are ******* with people that don't deserve respect.

I agree with you that radio is wack for the most part, but just cause some dudes are getting airplay doesn't mean **** about their credibility or ability. Rap's evolving. You don't gotta be trapping and rapping about the dudes you killing to make it. If you love the genre so much, you should want it to grow and get bigger. Dudes like Gambino, Chance, whoever, bring something other artists can't and help grow the genre. To sit out there and yell that every new artist is wack, ***, or a ***** just cause they aren't trapping or doing it the way that artists you like did is just as ignorant and backward thinking as any Trump supporter.

I'm pretty sure Chief Keef's children are his ghost writers.

You need to listen to Nas' early stuff. Nothing overrated about it.
