Did you not see about 70% of our offense get injured? And that doesn’t count Mensah who also looked like something was off.

This gotcha thread is ridiculous and petty.

Okay, I'll try to put it in clear English. We LOST two games last year. LOST them. You're claiming that there is now some "blueprint" that everyone can follow, but three of the best teams in the country couldn't do it even after LOSSES.

College football doesn't align with some corny "blueprint" theory.

USF in 2024 put out a blueprint motioning the slot receiver. The rest was history.

I’m not saying that wake did that tonight but the tape is the tape. Our tape tonight offensively in 2H was **** poor. Can teams replicate that moving forward like they did in 24 to bury Guidry’s p4 DC career?

Try to keep up. This storied, smooth, unstoppable offense at UM - during the second half - was pretty much shut down.

THEN, with a few plays we thankfully got pressure on by our defense - looked like we were kids being taught by one QB and one RECEIVER.

Quick, short passes ate our lunch, and some blitzes worked fortunately - but we sure took long enough to realize we were in a real fight - by WAKE FOREST. Remind me - what is their ranking?

So are you saying that the what we showed on offense in the first half is an illusion....and what we showed in the second is truly what our offense is??

No I’m not that saying that. I’m saying wake came out in the 2H and dominated us defensively. Moving forward teams with far superior talent (Clemson, Pitt, v tech, Irish) will replicate that gameplan. Do we have enough to counter? Skill wise yes we do. Up front with an SJ at guard? No ******* chance in ****

You try to keep up. I'm not talking about tonight. I'm talking about this famous "blueprint" that everyone else is going to use to beat us, even though Ohio State and Ole Miss couldn't figure it out.

That's why you should have actually watched the game.

One more thing: Last year - is gone. It's never coming back. Different year. Different team. Different players.

As in: the team we fielded tonight.

And every concern tends to read it's ugly head every time. 2024 defense, 2025 Beck"s INTs, now this. Interior OL and LB play has been dirty *** juice.
As great as or DTs are supposed to be, I was expecting better push up the middle.
I think Lightfoot needs to be moved around on the line more often, young boul is a weapon.

Key word “consistent “ pressure , that’s why we blitzed more than normal. It’s been the same thing first two games. As much zone as we run you need consistent pressure. Gio Lopez isn’t exacted Michael Vick.

How about we see where they finish up? They did heat UVA and SMU last year. Well coached team.
 
Lack of attention to details and communication on defense and too much rotating at the LB position.

Need to shuffle the OL around SJ isn’t it. Hes never in the correct position and he doesn’t have the length and power to recover. Don’t run away from establishing the run, SJ just can’t be on the line if that’s wat u r trying to do. The guards are too young, all 4 of them are either freshmens or Juniors.

Dawson’s got to make slight adjustments with his play calling and overall philosophy now that Toney is hurt, harder said then done. I’m not worried about the 2nd half offense. It’s clear the plan was to pick up where we left us last year and get physical and bleed the clock. We had no answers when that didn’t work. Which I think is something they will need to learn to do if they want to see the CFB playoffs and be competitive.


Move McConathy back to DE, he ain’t doing shii at TE.

Injuries. There’s a lot and they will always suck, praying for a speedy recovery. With that being said, hopefully this forces Dawson to improve and stop force feeding Toney. You say you got the talent and WRs then use them. young guys will get really good experience, wonder how this will affect the scout team and preparation for teams going forward.
