i actually felt better about the defense ...Not a real test but some concern for me on the defense
Thank you for response. I agree. Not so much on pass rush but they did show life tonight that has me a lot more confident Moving forward.
This isn’t a sky is falling thread as like you said everyone in the country has things to work on and are not a finished product.
This is a thread for the idiots who all offseason laughed at the folks who circled this game at wake on a Friday night saying this or Stanford would be a test. It’s a theme I’ve seen on here for 15 years
You should have watched the game.
They had a QB. A RECEIVER. And a quick, fast-paced offense.
We could barely tackle! But we DID put pressure on the QB there towards the end.
I don't give a **** how many playoff teams we beat last year.
That was LAST YEAR.
USF in 2024 put out a blueprint motioning the slot receiver. The rest was history.Okay, I'll try to put it in clear English. We LOST two games last year. LOST them. You're claiming that there is now some "blueprint" that everyone can follow, but three of the best teams in the country couldn't do it even after LOSSES.
College football doesn't align with some corny "blueprint" theory.

So are you saying that the what we showed on offense in the first half is an illusion....and what we showed in the second is truly what our offense is??Is this you saying you are confident in the passing game after tonight’s 2nd half performance against the 1st defense we faced with a pulse?
Or are you going to play the injury card?
No I’m not that saying that. I’m saying wake came out in the 2H and dominated us defensively. Moving forward teams with far superior talent (Clemson, Pitt, v tech, Irish) will replicate that gameplan. Do we have enough to counter? Skill wise yes we do. Up front with an SJ at guard? No ******* chance in ****So are you saying that the what we showed on offense in the first half is an illusion....and what we showed in the second is truly what our offense is??
Respectful question.
Try to keep up. This storied, smooth, unstoppable offense at UM - during the second half - was pretty much shut down.
THEN, with a few plays we thankfully got pressure on by our defense - looked like we were kids being taught by one QB and one RECEIVER.
Quick, short passes ate our lunch, and some blitzes worked fortunately - but we sure took long enough to realize we were in a real fight - by WAKE FOREST. Remind me - what is their ranking?

The O going full ****** was a bigger concern. The D at least made plays. The O flatlined. Not a real test but some concern for me on the defense
You try to keep up. I'm not talking about tonight. I'm talking about this famous "blueprint" that everyone else is going to use to beat us, even though Ohio State and Ole Miss couldn't figure it out.
I don’t. Wake OL is not really good. Lack of pass rush will plague us all year.i actually felt better about the defense ...Not a real test but some concern for me on the defense
Miami got pressure on Lopez with only rushing four. They just couldn’t bring him to the ground. Elusive QBs are elusive.Inconsistent pressure isn’t helping secondary either. We blitzed our asses off to get pressure. The cheat code days of sitting back and eating with 3-4 man rushes are over.
And every concern tends to read it's ugly head every time. 2024 defense, 2025 Beck"s INTs, now this. Interior OL and LB play has been dirty *** juice.OL and defense has been my concern all offseason and first two games. I’m even more concerned now
Key word “consistent “ pressure , that’s why we blitzed more than normal. It’s been the same thing first two games. As much zone as we run you need consistent pressure. Gio Lopez isn’t exacted Michael Vick.Miami got pressure on Lopez with only rushing four. They just couldn’t bring him to the ground. Elusive QBs are elusive.
How about we see where they finish up? They did heat UVA and SMU last year. Well coached team.Try to keep up. This storied, smooth, unstoppable offense at UM - during the second half - was pretty much shut down.
