Orange Bowl was special. Hard Rock after renovations is OK, but not in the same league as the OB and it's still just a rental. I hope we get our own stadium some day... either on campus or somewhere in Dade.
Same here, bro. Again, I haven’t been to HRS since the renno, but to hear the surrounding area is the same, was a bit disappointing. I know my experience(s) at the OB & twice I went to Sun Life Stadium & there was literally no comparison. My frat was at HRS for the ND game in ‘17 & FaceTimed me. I could feel the energy, but it still didn’t feel quite like the OB, and maybe I was being biased b/c he did say the place was rocking. Maybe the OB’s infrastructure w/ its old building material made it much more destructive & rambunctious. Lol.

Regardless, I know it will never happen, but HRS, seeing those aqua seats, and how **** poor our lettering is on the field, doesn’t feel like home. Wish we could get our own 45-55k stadium & use the HRS for the OB games. Wishful thinking, but seeing the old girl in all her glory will always have a special spot for me.

The Treasury: I'd ride my bike there and pick up a model. This is where I bought my 45 of Blinded By The Light.

Can't believe they tore that **** down for a baseball team that has no fans....

Hard Rock is nice but we have no history there...

I'd only been to 3 games at the Orange Bowl (99 Rutgers, 06 FAMU, 07 NC State) but it was an amazing place and you could feel the history, even though the last time I was there it smelled like ****

Sadly I am not old enough to have witnessed a game played in the Orange Bowl. Watching old highlights made it look like the absolute nightmare for every single visitor.

And I loved it. Watching the documentaries and the old highlights from the Orange Bowl made me a fan.

I hope that this will come back at some point in my life.

This is the part that ****es me off so deeply.

As to HRS, there's no reason to move, and it's a great home field advantage. The negative is that, it's not "ours."

We used to play in a rented NFL stadium that's state of the art. We used to play in a rented NFL stadium that smelled like ****.

The travesty is putting up another stadium at that location.

I remember climbing on a giant turtle sculpture in the Dadeland mall in the 70's.

We would ride our bikes to dadeland and go down the parking garage ramp. At 8-9 years old, it seemed like a long way down. We’d steal cigarettes for the ride home. As a kid, you could just walk into 7-11 and get a book of matches for free. Crazy times, but great times

58 straight sorta proves your point! Been to plenty of stadiums throughout the country and there are some great environments, but the OB was in a class of its’ own.

HRS 2017 ND was a great atmosphere but the OB was in a class of its own. The 89 ND game was madness from the time John Routh rode the motor scooter pregame to half hour after the game, the old girl was magical. So loud my cugina said they were having problems communicating with coaches in the booth. I don’t think you’ll see anything like the Orange Bowl ever again, it was that special. When the Canes came out thru that smoke in big games it was game on. Saw a good many of the 58 straight, unequalled times.

Man; goose bumps just reading this. I miss the OB badly.
