OC search

Dawson has been mediocre this season but this is not on him. Dawson has already said Mirabal designs the run game. Think about it, Dawson literally has zero of his own guys as position coaches. This offensive staff are all Mario guys. A new OC wouldn’t matter unless he’s able to bring in every assistant he wants.
I've been listening to a private discord conversation and Mirabal's involvement in the run game was discussed. Right or wrong, it was said that he doesn't make or design the run game plays. He takes the plays from Dawson's offense and designs the blocking schemes around them.

While Mario is a work a holic, how much time are the coordinators putting in? I mean, I hear D money talking about not being able to change much mid season which I get. I’m not talking about going from an air raid to a speed option to a spread to a Pro I in season. I’m talking about little wrinkles here or there. FFS watching NCS and GT last night it looked like they’re playbooks must be 500 pages long while ours appears to be on an index card.
Sometimes workaholics are the way they are from a time/effort standpoint bc they know they have to make up for lacking other skills. I work with many like that. That is how i see Mario. He knows he's lacking in many aspects.....so he will not be outworked. Maybe he fails to see his own flaws.

I'm all about balance - work hard, but smart. Read the room, see when the team is worn down and needs a break/boost, or when the team is getting overly comfortable and not putting in solid effort and needs a kick in the ***. And by team, i mean my team at work....but it correlates to sports (players and coaches) just as well.

It will be Jason Candle if Dawson takes a different job. Mario is going to finally close that ➰
He also loses tons of games when a double digit favorite, maybe combined he and Mario could lose to teams that they'd triple digit favorites over like junior high teams.

Saban went through OCs at a rapid pace, especially towards the end of his tenure, because they all left for better jobs. Tommy Rees being the exception, because he sucks *** but Kiffin, Sark, Locksley, Daboll, O’Brien all left for HC jobs or NFL OC positions. They all are in better positions now, obviously.

Where are all of Mario’s coordinators after they left UM?
No one poaches Mario's staffs at Miami.

Anyone who left was fired or were strongly suggested to seek other opportunities.

Without Cam we were below .500 last year. He put the team on his back. It’s almost a blessing and a curse. He may have just delayed the inevitable with Mario.
Xavier won a couple himself. Take him out of the equation last year and we lose at least two more.

We hired a air raid OC. What are you looking at when you see this offensive? Dawson can't call this offense. Our 3 best players coming into the season have not been used at all or completely misused. The whole offense can't get in a rythem, starting with the OL and its because of coaching. Mario has screwed this offense. The team has no answer now that teams have tape on us, again. Dawson doesn't scheme players open. It's hard to do when you stop throwing to 1 WR thats open all game. It doesn't matter who the OC is. We can't run on tiby little inferior teams. What's the company line ths week? I feel better, now.

so it’s actually 2 out of 3 years and if not for Cam freelancing for a lot of last year it would most likely be 3 for 3.

Every week we hear our coordinators say “we saw things that weren’t on film”

Yet when it comes to us “we can’t make changes mid season”?

**** outta here (not you just in general)

We need an OC that would have full control over the offense including bringing in his own coaches. Mirabel would have to be the first casualty.

Unfortunately none of the above will ever happen, we’re doomed.

Let me ask y’all something.

Shannon Dawson had the #1 offense in the country last year. We can argue why he did or who is mainly responsible for it til we’re all blue in the face, but point is, facts are facts.

So in one year, when Mario and co. run him off as the scapegoat - who in their ******* right mind would take this job if they’re an OC worth a ****?

Mario will only hire guys he’s comfortable with regardless, but point still stands. We’ll be on OC #3 in five years, and we’d have run off a guy we were worried about getting an HC gig.

At some point, the scapegoats don’t work anymore.

Nor does multiple, go-to, default no-gain runs up the middle in tight formations.

And none of them left because they were pursued by other programs and got better jobs…

They “mutually” agreed not to return…
