I don’t post a lot but one of the things that I find funny is even when people say we should be in because of the head to head victory over ND, the very next thing they say is but we think ND is better. No one ever says how they are better than Miami, they just say it like we are not on the same field with ND. I think this is our biggest issue with ND…….people believe that they are so much better than Miami even if they believe head to head should matter.

Do they suddenly have a new O-Line?new D-Line?

We dominated them on both sides of the ball
And why is everyone saying we should play each other again?

Oooh CJ Carr was in his first game then, he’s better now!

Yeah, and he got beaten by a 17-year old Toney, and true freshman Pringle, and true freshman Fitzgerald…

They were saying that the Sunday after our game. It's ridiculous. We not only beat them, we handled them.
Anyone who watched the game said it wasn’t as close as the score indicated. Now when people talk they say it was only a 3 pt game in Miami like it was close. We dominated them and it wasn’t really close.

For those CFB/ND fans that are now saying that the game was a close one, I encourage you to read the ND message boards from Sept 1 week. That will tell you what they thought of the game and how they were handled by us
People forget this and this is main reason you DOMINATE and dont let your foot off gas for entire 4th qtr!! People will forget and just look at score and say it was close, no one will go back and watch 3 month old game.. I said it then and first month of season our mindset was setting us up..

Either way, people will say they would be favored on neutral site, meanwhile they were favored before home game even more so imagine. On field it didnt matter..

Each CFB fan/commentator is running a private model in their head. It is rare to see people update their models given information which radically conflicts with their priors. For some reason, this year's CFP is extra stubborn (or has decided to base their judgments on a very narrow set of criteria which they're not sharing publicly).

I remember a single play of blown coverage to their TE (believe Toure was the one that let him run free) while we had the game firmly in hand that resulted in about 1/3 of their total game offense. We dominated them…start to finish!

The comments about them being a better team is laughable. The data states that we won our last game by more than they beat Pitt and they beat Stanford in their last game by less than we beat Stanford. We got them game 1 head-to-head and game 12 in ours and their game. That seems to sum it all up. Miami is the better team hands down! I am biased, but I cannot believe that this is not plain as day to the committee. They are willfully biased and ignorant to put ND ahead of Miami at this point.

My favorite nonsense argument is ND is better than they were in Week 1, and Miami is worse.

Let's see what Vegas thinks:

In Week 1, Miami was a 3 point underdog. Home-field advantage is generally worth 3 points, so that means, in Week 1, Vegas felt ND was 6 points better than Miami on a neutral field.

I saw this week Hard Rock put up a hypothetical line for Miami vs ND on a neutral field, were the game to be played today:

It was ND -5.5

Sooooooooo, both teams are literally exactly the same distance "apart" today as they were in Week 1. ND did not get better while Miami got worse, or the line would be different than it was in August.

Stupid *****.

The entire argument is based off the fact they've lost to two top 12 teams.

And we've lost to two "terrible" teams.

Even though both those terrible teams are similarly ranked to the Tennessee, LSU, Missouris of the world that get so much credit.

Much better than the Auburn and USCe of the world that also prop up the schedule.

It’s because SMU and UL play in the ACC. I have no doubt they would get more respect if those teams played in the Big12. Thanks to our conference AD Nero Phillips who is fiddling Notre dame’s theme song as the ACC burns down and puts a 7-5 Duke team in the ACC championship over it’s highest ranked ACC team, the conference has zero credibility.

Any argument they have is on Mario for not stepping in throats. He adjusted later but still he should’ve done it in this game and there would be no discussion.

Actually, this sounds like something that should be pulled on a bit more. Any chance you've got some screenshots or can direct folks? Is there a Domer Tears thread?
