Notre Dame better?

And why is everyone saying we should play each other again?

Oooh CJ Carr was in his first game then, he’s better now!

Yeah, and he got beaten by a 17-year old Toney, and true freshman Pringle, and true freshman Fitzgerald…
uh u got snap counts for pringle and fitzgerald bc they haven't seen the field till after injuries and botched targeting suspensions. then worked their way into starting from there.

My favorite nonsense argument is ND is better than they were in Week 1, and Miami is worse.

Let's see what Vegas thinks:

In Week 1, Miami was a 3 point underdog. Home-field advantage is generally worth 3 points, so that means, in Week 1, Vegas felt ND was 6 points better than Miami on a neutral field.

I saw this week Hard Rock put up a hypothetical line for Miami vs ND on a neutral field, were the game to be played today:

It was ND -5.5

Sooooooooo, both teams are literally exactly the same distance "apart" today as they were in Week 1. ND did not get better while Miami got worse, or the line would be different than it was in August.

Stupid *****.
Here's the game that doesn't get enough attention. And to think NC State was coming off of a bye after beating Georgia Tech 48-36. Keep in mind NC State got half of those yards with 2 minutes left against our 3rd stringers.

The entire argument is based off the fact they've lost to two top 12 teams.

And we've lost to two "terrible" teams.

Even though both those terrible teams are similarly ranked to the Tennessee, LSU, Missouris of the world that get so much credit.

Much better than the Auburn and USCe of the world that also prop up the schedule.

I find this talking-point odd as well. ND has built their narrative of "improvement" on wins over inferior competition. Even the degree to which they beat these common opponents is inferior to Miami.

BYU is no better...Their best win is Utah.

Administrators are generally pretentious servants of the establishment. None of this is very surprising from a room full of people who don't respond well to competition and usually manage conflict via email.

Okay, I was wrong about Pringle and stupidly trusted Google. Although that does bolster the argument.

Fitzgerald had nine defensive snaps against ND.

We have the same advantages over them now as we did then, save for one, which is Carr is more experienced.

Keonte Scott being injured is a factor, but they're down a key skill player or two also.

Their DL would still be overmatched.

I don’t post a lot but one of the things that I find funny is even when people say we should be in because of the head to head victory over ND, the very next thing they say is but we think ND is better. No one ever says how they are better than Miami, they just say it like we are not on the same field with ND. I think this is our biggest issue with ND…….people believe that they are so much better than Miami even if they believe head to head should matter.
We are Notre Dame's kryptonite. We have already shown they cannot block our defensive front, and our defensive front has only gotten better as the season has progressed. They struggled with our strength and athleticism in the first game of the season, and they would struggle if we played again. The only position where Notre Dame is better than Miami is running back and maybe tight end. I think we have the talent edge everywhere else.

The big reason I hear is “Notre Dame is much better than they were at the beginning of the season”. So, they played much better against a much weaker schedule? Most teams look way better against last place ACC teams than they do against CFP caliber opponents.
They haven't played a team with a disruptive defensive front since the beginning of the season. Hence, they have looked better.
