Notre Dame AD: ACC did “permanent damage”

but other than that he really didn't do anything but whine..

He did whine a LOT about the ACC and justified their contributions to football through drawing bigger crowds for other teams when they come to visit....

also whined a lot about the CFP committee misleading them... would have preferred to be ranked 19th or so behind Miami if that is how it was going to end up so at least they knew what they had to do to get back into the rankings...

Agree. That was a worthless press conference. If I was a ND fan I'd be more irate at that conference than I would have been on Sunday.

He's only been AD for 1y and it shows. Came from NBC which is no surprise. Also was a backup punter that played for ND. No surprise there either

The real question is WHO SIGNED AN MOU THAT GIVES THEM AN AUTOBID IF THEY ARE RANKED 12TH OR HIGHER NEXT SEASON?

Who had the authority to do that? Was it voted by all conferences? Did ESPN or anyone associated with the network do that?

No one is talking about that.

Supposedly it is only valid if the field is 12 or 14 teams. IDK what happens if it goes bigger....

that MOU is crazy.... why would the SEC or B1G agree to it??

agree to the same rules as everybody else or go home...CFP doesn't need ND.. they literally have zero leverage over the CFP....

think about it.. this year they could have been ranked 12th behind #11 BYU and #10 Miami and they would have jumped all the way up to #10 to knock Miami out.. they'll really be hated after something like that happens....

Every year there's always a few teams that will be left out and they are never happy about it, but they suck it up and play their bowl game. I doubt Alabama would have looked as bad as ND has been over the past couple of days. I know Bama would have *****ed loudly, but ND's administration, athletic department, the football team, and it's fan base have taken crying to a whole new level never seen before.

The committee has said they wouldn't penalize the loser in a conference championship game and head to head results will matter if the teams are in the same group. Going with those two declarations, Miami would be above ND and Bama would not drop below ND. If the previous weeks shows weren't filled with new criteria being introduced that week to justify a certain team over another, ND wouldn't have felt as butthurt as they are now. The feeling of being a sure thing to the shock of being left out definitely kills them. If Miami for left out many of us would be upset, but many of us also had resigned that we were out anyway so getting in was an unexpected happy surprise. Miami fans have been used to being screwed over and apparently always gets what they want like a spoiled child and this is worse than FSU level of crying

If ND doesn't want to use the time to develop younger and inexperienced players as well as using the practices and bowl game to make important player acquisition decisions that's ok with me. I'm glad Miami used the pop tarts bowl to audition for next year's starting QB job because we found out we definitely needed to acquire the best starting QB we could get.

The dude needs to STFU. He’s doing more damage to their reputation than the ACC or CFP.

Also, it’s interesting he’s speaking so highly of Miami. A partnership to get to a new conference would be best for both parties.

It is what it is and Miami was very deserving of a spot in the playoff. Did the committee choose the best 12 teams? IMO NO they did not. Is a 21.5 underdog what the playoffs are about? Leaving out the ACC champion and ND I think there was more to this scenario than a snub.

He has a real problem with the fact the Miami-ND game was on constant replay. He also brought up the comment that the Chair of the committee advised the committee to rewatch the game.... He felt that was not appropriate... LMAO

He claims the social media campaign against them started a few weeks ago. "Doesn't remember the exact timeline" but roughly a few weeks ago.
He felt at first it was a "rogue" intern posting from their desk and he expected a phone call apologizing.
