Not crowning but ****

With all that said we haven’t had a guy like this in a couple decades , with the physical and mental skills this guys showing. Him moving defenders with his eyes is next level ****, so is throwing guys open. Especially for his age.

I think you’re right because the dudes that went the hardest for him have left the blog/site. At least I don’t see them around anymore.

The concerns I had with him earlier was that he seemed hesitant or gun shy to throw the ball as he missed some open guys in the few opportunities he had vs Bama.

Obviously he is not. Then I thought his footwork is sloppy. He’s improved some of that. Lastly, he is leaving the pocket when he shouldn’t some times and other times when he should be stepping up into the pocket, he goes backwards into pressure.

Those are all things I am confident he will improve. He is a major talent. We are lucky to have him. Manny is lucky to have him.

I joke around by calling him TVD Trask, but he is having a similar impact to Trask last year for the Turds.

I'm not criticizing @Cribby here he's just relaying information but this is exactly why Miami will continue to have problems even if they fire Manny and hire Mario. It's the same BS they pulled when they hired Manny 3 years ago. They didn't conduct a search. Mario might be the right guy for the job, but this back door BS is nonsense and is too similar to when Manny was hired. It just speaks volumes about how unorganized and incompetent the entire set-up at Miami is from the athletic department to the BoT and donors.

If Manny isn't the guy, then he should be fired regardless of whether or not Mario gives a secret, backdoor handshake that he will accept being the next HC. Further, if Manny is not the guy, he should be fired, and then a real search is conducted where multiple strong candidates are interviewed including Mario. Reading the tea leaves on all of this is rubbing me the wrong way.
 
I will fully admit I was not high on TVD even after UNC. I didn't see it (although I don't pretend to have any football background or pedigree). But man I have been thoroughly impressed these last 10 quarters or so. Its night and day from only a few weeks ago. Looks extremely unfazed in the chaos of our games, even for a freshman. Game on the line, throwing out of your own endzone on third down, and he hits an NFL throw.

I'm not ready to crown him and I definitely want Manny gone, but I cannot help but hope TVD propels us on a run to end the season.

Bingo. look they’re not top 10. Imo they’re ranked right where they should be. They’re top 25 teams not top 15 or 10. We beat both. Doesn’t change that the team is flawed roster and coach wise but acknowledge when they do things well and win gsmes you didn’t expect

Playing behind a bad offensive line with very little help from the run game, he still stays calm and drops dime after dime. I’ll have to re watch the game and count how many of his incomplete passes were actually miss targets. He threw a few away purposely and had a couple of drops. The interception was probably not the best move, he called it “stupid” himself, but that very well could have been a huge play of Harley doesn’t fall down. But man, I’m really struggling to think of a throw where he had a guy open and just missed. If I’m going to nitpick, there were a couple of plays where he abandoned the pocket a bit early and tried to scramble and ended up getting sacked when he could have slid up and had another second to throw. But that’s stuff that happens to even the best of quarterbacks. I think we’re witnessing something special here.

This kid has something to him..his anticipation has gotten better and better. I’m not crowning **** this early..but it’s his ability to respond to adversity has been good. He’s had a scramble the last 3 weeks that showed moxy and gamesmanship..the one yesterday for a 1st down late was big time. He’s changed his arm angle multiple times..idk how to explain it but certain QBs have it..and that goes beyond his physical tools that are elite at this level

What are the BOT’s mindset after the past 2 weeks now? Have they changed their minds on Blake and Manny? I hope not… whether or not we win out, we need to see changes, especially on defense!!

I think this is probably the best we can hope for at this point. As long as Blake is out of here and there isn’t somebody in the AD chair who is beholden to Manny Sr then I can accept this as the outcome.

Exactly. He gets retained, then he repeats the same ish again next year, with another 4-4 start. Sometimes you just gotta take the bitter medicine and move on to the future. He’s proven his pattern. He lets everyone down. Enough is enough.
