Not breaking news, but…

Dawson did persist for the job, and made some concessions on input for the offense.

He didn’t sign up for condensed pistol bro style.
The condensed part is the issue, not the pistol part which imo is much better than regular shotgun runs - and has proven to be for us. Play action is improved a lot out of pistol as well imo.

Based on his results, he's a dime a dozen. Mario MIGHT start to feel like he needs to take a step up and hire a proven guy with more autonomy. I hope so. He wasted this team's season.

That’s where you’re wrong, friend.

Mario wants a guy who can force to run bro style in 2024 and beyond. That style of football (ball control, defense) just doesn’t win at the highest levels anymore.

Game by game, the offense has gotten slower, more condensed, and less imaginative with the sets and formations. That’s ALL MARIO.

It doesn’t matter who comes in after Dawson.

Of course it doesn't make sense, because there's a really good chance it's not entirely true. Consider you're reading this on an internet message board thru a game of telephone via a guy who is perpetually negative in every regard. Just something to keep in mind.
What @Ghandi said, might not be BS....I just spoke to someone close to the program who said he heard the same thing Sunday night.

For all intents and purposes, his legacy as a meddling plodder have been cemented.

If he can close on the 2024 WR class (doubt it after Dawson leaves), the 2025 kids will be out of there for sure.

People will blame bags, and, Beard, the stadium, the fans, etc…but none of that matters.

Because in the end, it’s this morons philosophy that counts and he’s here for 8 more years.

We can't have nice things.

Highly skeptical of this because it'd be a badddd look for both parties. Dawson would leave with a severely diminished reputation as he doesn't have the resume for his excuses of what went wrong here (even if true) to carry a lot of weight. Mario would look even worse and would seem toxic to anybody that he tries to get to come in here as OC #3 in 3 years.

Dawson has a lot of fallback options as a QB coach because he’s in the Dana Holgerson tree of coaches that go where he goes.

Mario, on the other hand, is going to have to name his boyfriend the OC because NOBODY with a desire to continue their career will come here.

I remember in the offseason that the Cristo-bros used the hiring of Dawson as "proof" that Cristobal isn't a caveman, but I cautioned that it meant nothing- Cristobal could still force Dawson to work within the confines of Cristobal's "vision" for the offense. Sometimes being right all the time is both a blessing and a curse.
Look what happened when Manny hired T-Rob and Shoop.... Everyone thought the D would take a leap forward but instead it was more of the same and both were gone in one year and Manny finally left as well...

@Ghandi why post this during the FSU week?

Even if you truly believe this to be fact, it is just another thing that will take focus away from FSU. Even if you HATE Mario, TVD, or just want this to be true, it serves very little purpose right now.

I have a strong dislike for both actually.

They both lack a critical aspect of leadership - accountability.

I was also given this anticipating a giant letdown by the offense in this game. I just wanted to make sure the post FSU fervor is pointed in the right direction.

Hint - it’s not Dawson.

Which is so ******* stupid.

What is complementary football exactly?

Translated from the ancient Greek text.....it refers to the process of running excessively on first and 2nd downs into loaded boxes pre-snap.

There is no known cure. Symptoms include an extremely conservative gameday approach in the face of modern gameday tactics and a refusal to bench underperforming quarterbacks. Downing the ball at your own 40 yard line in a tied game situation with about 50 seconds left, despite the presence of an All American kicker and a timeout at your disposal.....are also quite common.

Dawson is done here at the end of the season.

Not happy with the amount of meddling by Mario and his boyfriend (Mirabal), and his ideas to fix TVD (limit the thinking by speeding up the pace of the game) has been nixed in order to play “complementary football”.

He’s also getting some heat internally for not being able to script plays to start games to get TVD in rhythm. While this is well deserved, you can’t really roast his *** if one of the fixes he’s pitched has been declined. As a professional, he should be able to come up with a scheme (it’s been 5-weeks) to mask some of this **** and he just can’t.

Two things -

^ I believe it’s true that he’s unhappy, but the source is biased. To me, this is a bit of CYA as the season ends on a major thud. Like Gattis, the stink of this type of prolonged failure is brutal for the resume.
^ TVD’s inability to develop as a player claims yet another OC’s career. It’s no secret I have a personal dislike for him, and this only strengthens my criticism that he’s an unaccountable *** clown.

Believe what you wish, and **** all of your mothers.
Give me Dan Mullin NOW.....F all that he's goofy BS....
He might actually take the job that boi been begging for a job down here for years…
