That man called a great game salute coach!

What’s you guys thoughts or criticisms of the 1st game he called?

My thoughts:
Shoutout to the coaching staff with the scouting report on Franks and the offense.

I’ve never seen college football scouting report but I have seen the basketball reports my brother showed me when he played at Michigan State.

The nerds do a great job crunching numbers like each players tendencies, what they do with each hand on the shot, passing on drives, etc.

I’d imagine college football has a similar but not as in depth type of thing.

The defense forcing Franks off his spot to more challenging throws was a testament to that.

Good work.

No complaints. He did the very best with what he had to work with. The senior LBs minus Finley could have played better but it was still good enough to win. He put dudes in position to win, that’s all u can ask.

His spying of Franks on empty sets and likely draw plays, was brilliant! UF’s run game was stuffed. Baker did his job and earned his check.

He did a solid job. Defense gave up too many yards per play but overall did a good job and had us in position to win
They got half of their yardage on two plays which both should've been defended. Carter missed his assignment over the top of Hammond and our secondary forgot how to tackle (and a hold at the POA on Bandy) on the screen. Be better

Defense gave up 2 big plays this game. The first due to missed tackles in the first quarter of the first game of the season (common issue). The other one should have been called back because of a holding call. UF's right tackle looked like a 4-year-old getting dragged by a Great Dane on that play.

Take away the BIG plays, lack of pressure and the scores  .....then you can say he was dang near perfect

The Tony touchdown sucked cuz we were in position to make a play and get him to the ground and we didn't. That's a tackling problem on the 5th play of the season play. The deep ball looked like a late coverage by Carter and Frierson had a bad matchup. Overall, I'm not concerned

Uhhh that doesn’t mean they don’t count. Golden Girls never change.

Also have to factor in that Bandy got mugged on the Tony play.

Yep, kudos to Baker and staff. Some missed communications on pass defense of responsibilities but that's to be expected game 1 (the Carter INT was a good example of this despite the INT).

Total Yards: 306
Yards Per Play: 5.6
Yards Per Carry: 1.8

- If an offense averaged 306 yards a game last year, they would’ve ranked 106th.

- 5.6 yards per play, would’ve ranked around 76th.

- And a 1.8 ypc average would’ve placed you dead last in the country.

Called a pretty nice game overall. Would like to improve on tackling. Looked way too timid and soft in some spots. Want Hill and Rousseau on the field more to pressure the QB. Need to tighten up on blowing assignments.

I thought the playcalling was fine. Wish he unleashed the hounds a few more times.. but he called a good game. The big breaks by Florida were all related to missed assignments and poor tackling. If those get cleaned up...defense is going to be good and Blake Baker will be in the mix come award season.

Don’t say this. The big plays didn’t happen and Baker called the best game of all time according to the Golden Girls.
